There were 18 of us staying at this hotel for 3 nights, we arrived before check in time, however, the receptionist was most accomodating and provided us with the keys for the rooms that were ready, we only had to wait for 2 rooms which she got the cleaners to sort next. For the price we paid the hotel was great, its clean, friendly and although the breakfast is 1 croissant ,1 roll and jam (we didn't expect a full english!!) it is great value for money. 24 hr reception, rooms cleaned daily and although there is roadworks going on right outside the hotel we never heard a thing! They booked us mini buses to take us as a group back to the airport and advised us where we could go to eat of an evening No one in our party had any complaints. One thing to do is get on the train to Monaco - Monte Carlo, this was fantastic. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a cheap but friendly, helpful hotel. (p.s people who complain about the breakfast / beds / towels etc are people who really should dig deep into their pockets and stay in a 5* not 3!!)

Very accomodating and kind staff. Clean room. Breakfast was fine. I would stay here again without a doubt. A note of caution: there is a metro being built in Nice (with all the noise etc. that comes with it) and I recommend asking for a room away from the street side.

We stayed at Hotel Monsigny upon arrival in Nice at the start of a tour of Cote d'azur and Italy - and again three weeks later when getting back to Nice to catch our flight home. The room we had for two days at the beginning of our trip was borderline acceptable, and worse on our last night in Nice. Problems: gray and frayed towels, lumpy bed, stained carpet and bed cover, terrible pillows, grungy room. Breakfast was included - and not worth paying extra anyway.I am sure there are more decent 2-3 star accommodations in Nice.

We stayed there in august 2004. The hotel was just renovated so the room looked very new and cosy. The staff (a family) was very nice without exception. If you don't need 'grand luxe' but a comfortable hotel this is a good option. It's located 1 mile from the beach but very accessible because you just have to follow the big lanes Avenue Massaulena and Avenue Jean Medecin to get to the beach and back. These lanes are very lively because there are a lot of shops (clothing) so the 1 mile walk is over before you know it. For people with a limited budget this hotel is very nice.
