ok, so very outdated. 70s......the place is not the inviting. The decor, the building. etc. There were cuter hotels and closer to the beach but it was too late and I couldn't move......

It is close to the train station, so that's good and to the shopping centres.I think it had AC as well.....

We stayed in Hotel Saint Georges for two nights in September 2010. Location-wise the hotel is convenient for exploring Nice.

In terms of the hotel, check-in was smooth, front staff was always friendly.

The room was very very tired, and the bedspread looked like it was there since the 70s (and smelled like it too). The bathroom was also quite old, with black moldy stuff behind the folding shower door. I definitely made sure to wear my shower slippers here.

The key redeeming feature of this hotel was the free wifi!
Overall I think we got what we paid for (~C$120/night), but were less comfortable than we would have liked.

We unfortunately forgot a pair of new La Cost shorts in our room. In spite of several telephone conversations, discussions on how to pay/send this small item, and assurances that the parcel had been sent - we still have not received anything! It is a shame that the hotel is not able to give such an elementary service to it's guests!

If you make sure to put everything in your suitcase when leaving - I can recommend the hotel!

I have stayed in quite a few hotels in Nice and, in spite of the bad reviews, keep returning to the St Georges when they have space. I like the location as it is quiet and not too far from either bus or train station or from the old town. On this visit the room was clean, a decent size and fairly modern. Shower room was immaculate with good water pressure and plenty of hot water, things that are not always found in old French hotels. The place is certainly not luxury but I don't expect that for 70 euro. The newish manager is pleasant, polite and speaks reasonable English.

My attitude to hotels is to pay a lot and expect luxury or pay very little and hope for decent quality and clean, which is what I have got on each of my dozen or so stays at the St Georges.
