“Small mistake, satisfying compensation”

Location is really good to approach Nice, but some meters have to be walked in a bit mysterious streets and alleys. When we arrived, we got in the room and it was all messed up. Receptionist asked us to wait 30 minutes. After about 90 minutes that we returned, room was perfect and in addition they offered us a free breakfast for compensation, which pleased us a lot.

Be wary of the pictures featured on their website, We had two rooms and none of them looked like anything they showed on the website.
Very very basic, our room had a bed and that's it, no lamp, wardrobe, table - nothing. It did however have a fridge in a tiny cupboard, which was I think the selling point for the room. Although the room was pathetic, it was clean!
The two staff working during the day were freindly enough but watch out for the guy who sits on reception during the night he is so unfriendly and snarls at you when you come in.
in my opinion a very basic low budget hotel / hostel (still not worth the money they charge to stay there)

“worst service ever!”

We booked a night at Hotel Miron at an online booking service at the
early morning of the day of arrival. Later that day our train was delayed, and we called ahead to say we would have a late arrival. However, the receptionist we spoke to could not find our booking and only told us "sorry, sorry, not my problem" in his bad english. We asked a French girl to make another call for us to make sure we had not been mistaken; he still did not find our booking, and told her that was not his problem and that we probably would not find a new hotel when arriving in Nice at 1am. Our French friend was really quite shocked when he later declared that he "did not really care at all that they had overbooked us." According to him, it was our problem, not his. So really, we never stayed at the hotel, but we never had the chance to, we just want to warn everybody of the crappy service we encountered!

“So bad we gave up our room with no refund!”

As our cab pulled up to hotel Miron, my boyfriend and I were both quite frightened by the neighbourhood. As we walked into the lobby, the front desk clerk was friendly with us. The lobby itself gave us a general idea that the rooms themselves would be dirty and unkept. The receptionist had not booked prperly and told us we would have to switch into another room for our second night which didnt bother us too much. As we entered the room we were disgusted! Neither of us wanted to sit on the dirty bedspread and them attempted to go to the bathroom and could barely sit on the toilet without hitting our head on the sink. After washing my hands with no soap, I tried to dry off my hands on the crusty towels before deciding to use kleenex rather than a dirty towel. We could not even bare the thought of spending even a night in this hotel so we went down to give up our room, losing our first night but at that point we did not care. We walked around the corner and found a great chain hotel for a little more but was well worth it! We decided we would rather lose our first nights cost than try to stay in that horrible hotel! Hotel Miron was the worst hotel we had both ever seen and we saw a lot during our time in Europe and in other countries!

I staid at the Hotel Miron in July 2002. The majority of the rooms are not air conditioned. Also, I was on a room on the top floor, which has huge balconies. Most people seem to really like them on the reviews I've read, but the balconies are only separated by a short fence, and the doors to the outside didn't lock properly. People in the other rooms were outside shouting on the balconies in the early morning through 3-4 AM at night. It was impossible to sleep, and I was a little nervous being a single girl, with doors that didn't lock to the outside properly, hearing drunk men shout all night. Also, if I closed the doors to the outside, the sound was muted, but then it was INCREDIBLY hot. I don't recommend this hotel. I had to really put up a fuss to have my room changed. And the new room was still kind of noisy, but I dealt with the situtation. Also, I booked online before I went there, and the prices listed at arrival were much lower than the online rate. I realized I could have stayed in a much better hotel.
