The location is fine, really close to the railway station and to the beach, rooms are big enough, comparing to other hotels in Nice, but (!) it does not deserve 3 stars.

First of all because the bathtub and the hygiene in the bath was horrible, and I was "lucky enough" to see some bugs in the sink the first night I was there, the walls in the room were dirty - spots of different colors and shapes :), which you might not notice if you check in in the evening :).

Eventually I decided to checkout the morning after I arrived and went to a 2 stars hotel, which is way cheaper, cleaner and better looking than...this "exclusive" 3 stars hotel.

An excellent hotel close to the railway station and 20 min walk from the beach. Room clean, staff friendly, breakfast adequate. The hotel's Sunfish Cafe was only open for breakfast but there is a really excellent restaurant just round the corner - L'Occitanie, 54 Boulevard Gambetta. Only problem is, it closes in August!!

The district is ok but not inspiring but this sums up Nice - a good centre from which to explore the region but not much of interest there.

Small hotel, decent sized rooms. The hotel staff is kind - but won't go out of their way to help you. No room service. The breakfast is served next door and is quite boring - the same packaged food everyday and nothing to write about.
Not in the best location of Nice - about ten minutes from the station.
They have free wi-fi.

Hotel Ibis close by is a better option.

We travel extensively around the world in all sorts of accommodation and frankly the Medicis was dismal and only deserves a 1 star rating. The room was hot and pokey small. The staff were generally disinterested and unhelpful and the place was dirty. I have seen much cleaner and better run backpacker centers.
