average hotel run on minimal staff reception did not acknowlege phone had been taken from the room. not enough crockery at breakfast and had to wait for food

An ideal base for our long weekend in Nice. Booked with Octopus so breakfast included which was a good continental fill up to start the day, coffee machine rubbish though. Style is French and old fashioned so not flash but ideal with clean and functional bathroom. Our room was overlooking street but not noisy. Air con was a blessing as it was very warm on a couple of nights. Internal courtyard is a good place to sit and read, we brought our own wine in and no-one minds. Location is easy 15mins walk to old town and sea front, tram route very close if you want to avoid walking. Only 100 metres from main railway station. Tip - buses are only 1 euro anywhere you want to go eg Monaco or Antibes or Nice

For its money the service was horrible. Very poor breakfast, the rooms were very small, the bathrooms tiny, the rooms and bathrooms smelt, we had to sleep with the windows open.
Too expensive. We were expecting much more. Don't get fooled by the pictures on the internet.

We booked the hotel in July for a 4 night stay before going to Genoa to take a cruise. We were given a room in the garden area which was spacious and suited us. The staff at the hotel were friendly all be it the girl looking after the breakfasts always seemed top be under pressure as guests arrived. The hotel was convenient for the train station and it was a 10 - 15 walk to the promenade which we didn't mind too much.
After the cruise ( 11 days later ) we arrived back in Nice again and were told our bags could not be left at the train station as we had some time before our flight home that evening. So we walked down to the hotel and the lady at reception was more than happy to help us out and certainly didn't want anything for keeping the bags
