When you go away you are concerned about pulling up to your hotel thinking what have i booked...........but christ this is bad! I feel bad saying that as the owners were lovely but can they not see how there hotel needs some love and attention! You felt as tho you would fall off the balcony it was so small and tilted. Pipes were coming through the floor, wall paper pealing off the wall, couldnt close the bathroom door, loose tiles, brown bath, toilet wouldnt flush and the lift!!!!!......you most go to see it for the experience! The list goes on!!!!

The best I can say about this experience is that it tried hard to be clean and the owners were nice people and very helpful. Our room needed a quite some repair had we been staying longer would have asked for a change. There was no sea view the bath room was antiquated with pipes going through holes in the floor and a loose sink, no plug for the bath should we have wanted one.No dining area breakfast was served in our room, where the walls had big scrap marks in the paint work and the fan didn't work. There was a lift that was tiny and sounded as though it could give way at any moment. The walk to the town centre was a good 30mins.
On the good side it was 2 mins from the beech the weather was lovely and a good restaurant right under neath. Bus stop right outside which took us into town in 5min.and several other places. So for the money I guess this is a 50/50 situation.

The hotel is being renovated and is now a building site. Work was going on daily but very slowly. Our room had holes in the walls, The shower was broken. One day there was no electricity. The TV had one channel. The furniture was very old and damaged. There was no air conditioning. Most of the time there was no one at the front desk. Complaints to the management drew minimal constructive response. We recommend you avoid Hotel Magnan.

Location wise, it is on the beach and near the bus stop to the airport. But it is a bit of a walk to the center, but the room we stayed in was like a youth hostel, basic amenities, such as a bed and toilet, and that was about it...there was no shower, just a bath tub, so we showered ourselves with large bottles of water, but as I was with friends, we did laugh about it, but if you want a romantic weekend with your loved one, don't stay there, it will spoil the mood...but if you want cheap and convenient, compared to other digs in Nice, then this will be fine..but don't expect much!! :-)

Personally, I would suggest spending a bit more $$$ because once you get there, you do thin to yourself, I should have done it....so do it now!
