I used to visit Nice regularly but I haven't been here for several years. I am pleased to say that this hotel was as satisfactory as it used to be: good location, pleasant quiet room (a twin room on an executive floor) and efficient helpful staff at the reception. I got a reasonable deal (it was February!) and in one respect there was an improvement - breakfast was better. The only criticism I have is lack of atmosphere: the hotel appeared to be empty. The restaurant has gone upmarket -at least as far as price is concerned- but we didn't use it because we didn't fancy eating on our own, and there are several good restaurants close by. (The two Les Viviers places, a bistrot and a smart restaurant, in the adjacent rue Alphonse Karr are as good as it gets in my book for fish, and there are two other Michelin rated restarants less than five minutes walk away.).
