Holiday Inn, Nice, is great. Nice location very close to the shops and beach. Comfortable rooms and excellent breakfast. Nice patio beside the front entrance where you can sit anytime with good food served.
The front desk staff are incredibly helpful (and speak perfect English) as are all the other staff. Lovely staff all round.
The hotel is not a beach-front location but the rooms look out onto the Blvd. Victor Hugo, a wide tree-lined avenue, and there are many good restaurants very close. The main shopping area, Avenue Jean Medicin, is only one minute away. Beach is only five minutes' walk away. I have often stayed in the Meridien Hotel on the beach front which is excellent but the Holiday Inn is equally convenient and much more reasonably priced so the Holiday Inn is where I always stay now. The elevator uses you key card so is fairly safe. Nice lobby and lounge. No swimming pool but the sea is only five minutes away! As a British Airways pilot I travel a lot and like decent hotels. I regularly go to Nice and the Holiday Inn is perfect.

The hotel is clean and in a good location. For the price it is a good choice, I'd say value is it's best attribute. There is nothing special about it, but since you can make some bad choices in Nice it's a safe bet and it's easy to walk to lots of great locations.

Holiday Inns are more upscale in Europe than in the U.S., so this would be comparable to a U.S. Marriott or other full service hotel in the states, though the rooms are definitely a bit dated.

We stayed here about a year ago, and our room was extremely dated. The location and prices are right, so we returned this year. And the room we had this time was newly redecorated--very modern and comfortable. Beds are new and nice. Carpeting is new. Flat screen tv with lots of options. Only negatives are having to pay for internet and wi-fi. The girls at the front desk are very helpful and friendly, even on the second time that I locked my self out of the room. (You can't go up the elevator without a key card, but I hadn't brought mine since my son was in the room.)
Within walking distance of everything in Nice. Lots of good restaurants nearby.

Nice is a place where money talks - it usually says "Au Revoir". The Holiday Inn is a peasant enough hotel back from the insane traffic on the Promenades that run along the sea. My room was comfortable and of a reasonable size but by American standards it was a bit meagre. The bed was of a good size and I was able to sleep without disturbance. Parking and Internet are extra - one I understand even though the charge is really quite high. The hotel will park your car for you which is convenient if pricey. The biggest drawback was the stuffiness in the room - there was no way to get the temperature down without opening the window. The bathroom was excellent - even though there was a crack in the sink. There was no ice to be had as the machine had packed in - I do not blame the hotel for that but the staff let me have what they had and were obliging. I can recommend this hotel but do not expect the Ritz. If you want a really good dinner in the Cour Salaya - try L'Amosphere - I was delighted.
