Before booking at the hotel, I've asked the guy the day before if we could be 3 in the same room... he said there was no problem. When we arrived to destination, the receptionist told my friend not to go in our room. She said that we were just allowed yo be 2. We told her that her colleague told us it was ok... So she called her manager. Her manager told us that it was his employee that made the mistake... That his employee was not his responsibility. He was very rude as well as the front desk lady... They finally accepted to give us a bigger room if we paid 20 euros... Then the lady asked 60 euros... and then after arguing that she just told us 20 euros, the director asked her to make it 20 euros more.

Same night i've talked with the guy that gave us the wrong info... He was very nice... But the next morning, even though i've booked on ebookers, the guy told me that the payment didn't go trough and asked me to pay 77 euros. He said that if he made a mistake he would refund me directly... I was in a hurry so I accepted to pay... When I came back in Canada, my credit card was billed by ebookers + Nice Hotel...

Ebookers called the hotel... took at least 5 days to talk with the manager. He told that he would proceed to a refund... It's been a month and I was not refunded... I just called the lady today, asking her to talk with the director of the hotel... and as usual, he is not at the hotel... I then asked her to give me the name of the head office... She refused... I asked her to give me her name and said that it wasn't important.

This is the worst hotel EVER!!!

we didn't have an opportunity to book a hotel in advance and all the other hotels we tried were full. Nouvel was the only one that had anything for 4 grown-ups with 2 children. The room cost 120 euros + tax. So we had to pay around 250 euros for 2 rooms. We asked at the reception which room is better for staying with 6-month old babies, in the end that room had a broken conditioner, and the night was very hot, non of us could sleep, the other room had a mirror broken with a bullet. In addition we were bitten by bugs, I first thought these were the mosquito bites, but obviously not. So much pleasure we got for 120 euros per room. There were no pillow cases, but a folded linen. It was also smoked in the room, although it is prohibited. The interior was like Etap hotel, just Etap costs 40 euros.
The only positive thing was the friendly staff.

We'd read the other reviews and decided that this seemed a good bet (bit put off by the negatives) BUT this hotel is definitely worth staying in. Ignore the negatives!!

It's so close to the Promenade des Anglais and easy walking distance of the Old Town etc etc., on direct bus route from the airport (just a quick ride, 4 euros each). The bathroom in our room was a little tired, but it was clean and the room was cleaned/made up every day. Nice view from our balcony across to the hill in the distance. There's a safe in every room (5 euro refundable deposit for the key/lock) and fridge. Comfy beds too!

Breakfast was great and the staff were all very friendly and helpful and spoke impecable English (put my rubbish French to shame!).

So - excellent value for money. Will definitely be staying here again.

I've stayed at this hotel several times over the last few years. The rooms are always spotlessly clean and comfortable, if very basic, and the location is a winner - a short walk to almost everything a visitor would want - food, beach, shops, transport hubs. The reception staff are friendly and try to be helpful - and speak reasonable English!

Downsides - the single room rooms are all at the rear of the hotel and overlook the inner courtyard. The bathrooms are TINY and the showers are rather ... individual - plenty of pressure and hot water but the showerhead isn't fixed to the wall, so you have to hold the spray, which makes it tricky to lather up or shampoo/condition your hair. There are no English language channels available on the tv and no bar or restaurant (except for breakfast). Lift is a typical small French hotel lift - maximum of 3 persons or one person with luggage!

The hotel has free wifi but reception is poor in the bedrooms - however you're free to use the breakfast room for websurfing in the evening, or the comfortable sofas in the small lounge next to Reception.
