“Great Location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 January 2012

We stayed at this hotel on our honeymoon in October 2011.

This hotel has a FABULOUS location. They're about half way between Old Nice and the train station. There's a fantastic Boulangerie just down the street, and you're less than a block away from the Tram so that you can rest your tired feet at the end of a long day.

We stayed in a standard double. The room was ok. It was clean, the bathrooms were modernized (though we did soak the bathroom every time we tried to shower), the beds were not the most comfortable, and the room was a touch small. I'm usually ok with small, but there was a funny desk-like structure that took up an entire wall that made the room feel smaller than it was. I didn't have any issues with noise here (as I've seen stated in some of the other reveiws). We stayed in the older part of the hotel, and we really can't complain about our visit. I think the issue here (for me) is that we just had such amazing hotels on our entire trip and this one didn't quite measure up to the rest.

What stands out about this hotel was the location for me. Fantastic home base for visiting Nice, and it's a good value - just maybe not the most comfortable one - and heck, who spends all their time in their room anyways?

“Great value and location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 January 2012

During our 10 day trip in Provence, we stayed at the Hotel Boreal for 3 nights. We were in the older part of the hotel and had to carry our luggage up stairs since it doesn't have elevator access. The room was a bit small, but comfortable and worth the money. The breakfast provided at the hotel is a good value too. The location and the charm of the hotel makes it worth the money. I would definitely go there again and recommend to friends looking to be money-conscious. The desk staff was very helpful and gave us excellent suggestions for restaurants.

Room Tip: Probably better rooms in the newer section, but if you're okay with carrying your luggage up sta...

“Great location and extremely friendly and helpful staff!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 January 2012

We stayed here for the New Years holidays and were very pleased with our stay.

The staff were extremely helpful (particularly Stephanie) and provided tons of information on things to do in the area. They also made several phone calls for us to make dinner reservations and book tours.

The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. The only negative aspect to the room was the lack of a shower curtain and mini fridge.

I would definitely stay again and would recommend this place to any one.

On the plus side - they were able to get us into our room at 11am, staff could not have been more accommodating or friendly, location worked well for us as it was close to the train station, the main street, Old Nice and the Promenade. Loved the fresh squeezed OJ in the am. The bathroom seemed to be modernized and was very clean. On the down side - the room was aged, the heat did not work at first (had to have them come twice before it did-but they were prompt), the walls were paper thin, the mattresses not the best quality and a good night's sleep was not to be had, due to the noises and the doors constantly slamming. The shower in the tub - well, quite a challenge to keep the water from going outside of the tub due to lack of a shower curtain - we laugh about it now! If staying here (and the price is great comparatively) bring sleeping pills and make it a short stay. High praise to the staff - they were wonderful!!!

“Nice location”

The staff were friendly and helpful and the room was clean. Not very big though.

The breakfast was nothing exciting but did the job. The location was great - just a stones throw from the main shopping street and a short walk to the train station, tour bus, prom and old town.
