We booked this hotel as it was close to the airport (walking distance from Terminal1). We were going on a cruise the next day so just wanted somewhere to crash for the night and, as there was a group of us, the overall vote was for cheap and cheerful. At 72 euros, it was certainly less expensive than some of the other local contenders.
I knew there were few places to eat in this area so the availability of the restaurant was a major part of us choosing this venue. It started out OK. We walked the short distance to the hotel and check in. The room was small and pretty basic but actually better than the walk down the corrider promised - a bit like walking along a prison floor!
The first disaster was dinner. Our server, Daisy, managed to get one of the orders wrong and was most put out when we asked for separate bills for each room. My steak was possibly the worst I have ever had anywhere in the world. It was completely inedible. One of my friends had ordered his meal with a sause and chips. The chips came a full 20 minutes after the meal and we're still waiting for the sause. Meanwhile, Daily became extremely rude. It was a complete farce. When one of our party complained, they grudgingly took the price of one beer off the bill - a pathetic gesture.
Worse was to come during the night. A vehicle came to collect wste and glass and took a full hour to crush it outside at full volume. Sleep simply wasn't possible.
So my advice would be ask for a room at the front (the sound of the planes was preferable to the sound of the waste removal) and don't eat here. Taxis are expensive in Nice and you're a couple of miles away from the main part of town but a local bus leaves from the airport and only costs a euro or two so do that instead. We actually saw several restaurants in the Arenas area the next day when we were walking back from the train station so some of these may be open in the evening but there was no way for us to tell.
All in all, it was cheap but undoubtedly not cheerful!!
Room Tip: Get a room at the front, well away from the lift.
