“Very good location, ok hotel”

Location is very good, just around the corner from the Marché aux Fleurs which has lots of restaurants etc.

Hotel itself is ok. I've stayed here 3 times and the rooms I've stayed in have varied in size but have been functional and clean. As another reviewer wrote, it looks a bit tired, but I didn't find that a problem. I've recommended this hotel to others (if they get a good rate) as the location is really good. I'll stay here next time as I know what to expect and I like the location.

“Good Location & Great Value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 January 2012

My experience with the Mercure chain of hotels in Europe is that the quality of the properties can be quite hit-and-miss. Fortunately the Mercure Nice Marche aux Fleurs was a hit, providing excellent value and a comfortable stay in a good location.

Located directly across the Quai des Etats-Unis from Opera Plage (Opera Beach), this cozy hotel offers boutique ambience without the boutique prices. There is no parking on site unless you're lucky enough to get a spot on the street, but underground parking is available just a couple of blocks away for the cost of roughly 25 euros per 24-hour period.

The hotel is close to Old Nice, and shops, restaurants, and boulangeries abound - there is no shortage of places to eat. The hotel does serve breakfast but unlike many hotels it is not included in the price of the room, but rather costs about 15 Euros. We chose to find ourselves a nice nearby boulangerie that served a hot, fresh breakfast for less money than the hotel charged for their continental buffet. If the shops and markets of Old Nice lose their appeal the hotel is only two blocks from the newly reconstructed Place Massena and the gateway to more modern shopping.

We chose a "premium" room on the main floor of the hotel for several of reasons - first, it was a larger room with a king size bed. Second, since there is no elevator in the hotel we were able to avoid humping our luggage up and down stairs. Third, the bathroom was larger, with better fixtures. Unfortunately being on the main floor meant we overlooked a busy side street that was used for scooter parking and even though the hotel did a good job of soundproofing, we were still woken by a two-stroke symphony in the morning. I think maybe a room on the west side of the hotel would have been quieter.

In summary we were very happy with our stay. Staff was friendly and very helpful, the room was quite large and comfortable, and the location was perfect.

Room Tip: Premium rooms on the first floor cost a bit more but are much larger and feature better-equipped bat...

“best deal with outstanding location”

Perfect location for this hotel, right on the Promenade des Anglais. We stayed 3 nights between Xmas and New Year's Eve, at a price second to none (we booked a month in advance on the accor website). Room was super quiet, with a view that was less than optimal (overlooking backyards of typical old Nice apartments), but we did not spend much of our time in the room. Staff was very friendly, and the hotel and room were very clean.
We'll be back!

“Excellent location”

The hotel is a little aged, we had two rooms for my daughter n her boyfriend, my wife and I. The front desk not too helpful. But I would say its an acceptable place to stay.

I been to Nice many times. Probably the last time. The place is over run with tourists. The streets are not drivable. Its scary, noone has any patience or coutesy. Between cars, motorcycles, mopeds, bicycles and predestrians. It will give you a heartache driving in Cote Azure and marseille. I think the local is just wary of the influx of tourists.

Even spent a few hundred euros and bought a painting of Cour Saleya as our memory of Nice.

We love France, just not goin back to Nice.

Room Tip: Ask for room with view of Promenade Des Angles. Most other rooms have view of a narrow street.
