“A very comfortable place to stay in Nice”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 December 2011

This is a large modern hotel complex which offers a range of amenities including swimming pool and spa. We were rather rushed and since we only stayed there for 2 nights we did not have the time to take full advantage of these things. A great convenience though is the tramway stop right outside the hotel, as the hotel is not in the heart of the city.

Our double room was very clean and of ample proportions. It was wery well sound proofed , so we slept very soundly even though our room faced the street. The bathroom included both bath and shower and was very clean and well proportioned. There is a chiller cabinet in the room, so we were able to have cold drinks on tap.

The only thing which we found "unfriendly" was the fact that the internet facility if used in one's room is payable - that seems rather "mean-spirited" as other hotels offer it as a courtesy. Use in the hotel lobby is gratis, but too public if one wants to make a business call.

Overall we would certainly stay there again and recommend it to others.

“A very enjoyable stay”

No need to worry about this hotel not being on the promenade with the tram service running nearby it's no problem in fact the hotel is convenient for access to all transport. We had a really nice upgraded room with tea/coffee making facilities, comfortable beds with nice linen, good sized bathroom fluffy towels although the sink in the room is cracked and needs repair or changing, cleaning excellent. Very good breakfasts as much as you could possibly want, helpful staff nothing a problem to them, even what to see and visit advice given. Every single member of staff greeted and spoke to you in passing they are a credit to the management of this hotel. We had a brilliant stay and would certainly use this hotel again and as for Nice we simply loved it.

Room Tip: Try for an upgrade -- never know your luck

“Nice and simple”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 November 2011

Nice hotel. A bit away from the city center but close to the tram line. The room was quite modern and spacious. It was facing the street so I was expecting some noise from there but it was very quiet. Surprisingly the corridor was very acoustic and you could hear every person going up and down the hall. So I would suggest taking a room away from the elevator.
Breakfast quite good with a reasonable choice. In general a good hotel but nothing fancy.

Room Tip: take a room at the end of the hall to avoid noises.

“Great short break”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 November 2011

Stayed for the weekend (during France vs Wales Rugby World Cup!!) and had a great experience. I had glanced at some of the reviews prior to travelling, so I arrived with a few worries about the service that I may receive - I'm glad to say that my worries were totally unfounded.

Location was terrific for what we had planned - near enough to the old district - about 15 minutes walk, and opposite a tram stop (cheap and frequent transportation system) if the walk too much. Around the corner is also the local bus station, the train station a 5 minute walk away.

The reception area is quiet minimalistic, with absolutely enormous sofas - so deep as to be difficult to get off them. Not a whole lot of atmosphere, but spotless and bright. I found the receptionists polite and helpful, offering advice on what to see and how to get about if required.

The rooms exactly as pictured, definitely missed a morning coffee as no tea/coffee facilities in room - but it isn't advertised so little else to say. My ONLY gripe was that the mirror wardrobes had huge cracks at the bottom and really needed replacing.

Bathroom was clean and sizeable, and it was good to have a separate toilet, however the floor wasn't very clean in there when we arrived.

Beds were large and comfortable.

We didn't even get to look at the pool as we had so much planned.

We didn't eat in the restaurant because we wanted to try the local places, although the prices weren't outrageous, but we did use the stylish bar for evening coffee, or a few glasses of wine, and found that the prices were the same as elsewhere in the city. As for the service, the lads in the bar/restaurant were great - it was really quiet in the hotel during our stay so they both went out of their way to make sure that we were happy, and offered loads of advice on what to do and how to get about too.

Breakfast had an adequate choice of self service hot/cold/fruit/cereals etc

It was advised that the hotel had a change of manager in the summer, who had a totally different outlook to customer service, thus a change of some staff ensued. This perhaps explains why there were complaint from previous occupants, but I must say that I found the staff on the whole to be really friendly.

Overall, we had a great time in a great location.
