“Well done, super comfortable bed”

Park Inn hotels are owned by Radisson Hotel Group and i must admit i have never actively wanted to stay in what i used to class in the same group as holiday inn or Premier Inn but i ended up in Park Inn, Nice France by pure chance (secret hotel deal) and i couldn't be happier so much so we stayed there 2 days later when returning to the airport.

Although there colour logo is not wonderful there service was, we were given full access to all the facilities (most importantly we were told what all the facilities were).

The room was large and spotless although to pick holes the bath could have done with being re-sealed as the sealant was looking a little off and the red wall in the room was maybe a little to red? subtlety is the key.
The bed was fantastically comfortable and i slept better than i have in a while, quite possibly the nicest hotel bed i have slept in.

As for the staff they were extremely helpful polite and well mannered, they could do with someone being permanently on the downstairs bar but other than that it was great and the food was good too, we were even driven to the train station and the airport.

All in all with work i am often flying into Nice i will be staying here next time!

Room Tip: although this is by a main road and close to the airport ( i walked there from terminal one) i did n...

“Disappointing....”

What made me rate poorly this hotel was the heater! It says in their web: Individual Climate Control! No, there was no control at all! The room was really cold, we could not control the temperature, since they set up in low temperature! I had to be in the room with my coat all the time! At the beggining we thought it was broken, but them we ask for another room, and we still could not control it, and still freezing. We gave up and stayed with our coats in the room!
The staff was ok. The hotel did not deserves a 4 star, may be a good 3 star ! It looks like they were going through some financial difficulties!

“A few drawbacks but nothing major”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 November 2011

The room and bathroom were clean except for the shower which had a bit of mould in it. The hair dryer was precisely that - a hair dryer. Not hot anough to style hair, but there is a salon downstairs where you can get your hair done which I didn't bother with.
There was one light swicth that controlled both the bathroom light and the light outside the bathroom door which was annoying when travelling with another person and you need to use the bathroom during the night!
The AC was automatic which was annoying as the room was too cold for me and there was nothing I could do about it.
The room was spacious and had nice decor.
Comfy bed, soft and slippery pillows.
Only 6 people can go into the elevator at one time, or 4 with luggage. Ridiculous. Also one of the elevators was not working.
Internet is 6 Euro for 30 minutes, a rip-off but I've seen worse.
Iron is available on request - yay! Just press the button on the phone with the iron on it, you will be put through to Housekeeping and they will bring up the iron and ironing board for you.
There was a smell of cigarettes in the hallway but it didn't come into our room.
At breakfast there were sausages and eggs in addition to the Continental breakfast, but the eggs were powdered. Yuck.

“The staff is outstanding!!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 November 2011

The sole reason we booked this hotel for 2-nights was that it was close to the airport and the price. We didn't look on any travel sites just straight off of the orbits website. We were not expecting much, after all it's a airport hotel and it's our last 2-nights of our honeymoon. We're trying to save some $$ after the expensive part and Nice was our last stop.

We arrive in Nice to find the BEST staff we've had in our entire 2+ weeks in Italy & France on our honeymoon. What a surprise!?! First off, we arrive to the train station and call the hotel to find exactly where to walk to. It's not a very busy day in the hotel and sure enough they come and pick us up close to the train station at another hotel. The driver was Jean-Marc and from that moment to the day we left, he was great! The most impressive staff we came across in our travels was Charlene. She checked us in, gave us TONS of restaurant advice, always remembered our names, fixed any room problems we had, even came and joked to the bartender to be nice to her "favorite guests"...Oh, Charlene, stop! I really appreciated how she spent time with me to review restaurants. We wanted something very special ($$$$) for our honeymoon last night and we went through restaurant after restaurant talking about their good & bad points until we found one that suited us best. She was beyond helpful and told the late night staff to say good bye to us since she was off before we returned as well.

Honestly, what a refresher coming to this hotel because we spent some $$$ on our honeymoon and never was ANY staff at the hotels/villa we stayed at more impressive than this team. Kudos to their management "outstanding" for this aspect.

Now, the hotel itself is a "good" rating for a few reasons:
-the lobby bar is good for drinks pre dinner
-bed was comfortable
-room was spacious with a couch
-quiet room
-free shuttle to the marina area
-free airport shuttle
-the sauna and steam room (pool and spa look ok but weren't open)

The "bad":
-there was a rancid smell coming from the 5th floor lobby elevator area, weird.
-our air conditioning didn't work (didn't get below 24*C) yes, we told the hotel but it was on the day we left and they ended up shutting it off instead of fixing it.

Lastly, the price was right on. $106 per night. I would pay that again.
Say hi to Charlene if you end up traveling through the hotel.

“Smelly room and poor service”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 October 2011

Had 2 nights accommodation as part of Cosmos Tour. We were given room 117, before we entered the room, there is this terrible smell at the entrance. When we open the room, it was even worst like sewage has flooded the room. I knocked on next door room 118 to check if that is the latest French Perfume used by the hotel. Room 118 was alright. The guests in Room 118 agree that our room smell horrible. I went down to the reception to report the problem and ask for a room change. The girl at the counter told me the hotel is fully booked and they cannot change the room for me. There are 151 rooms and all fully occupied in mid-Oct!!! She offer to fix the odour problem by spraying more chemical. I mentioned that if this can be fixed, house-keeping should have done it when they are cleaning it today. The manager then offer to go to the room to check it out himself. He agreed that there is the bad odour and again ask me to put up for one night as they are fully booked and they will give me a new room for my second night. I refuse to sleep in the room and ask the manager to move the bed to the corridor, I am quite happy to sleep by the lift. Finally he make a phone call and told me there is another room available and he show me room 123 which is fine like any hotel room.

Very poor service, expecting the guest to put up with the sewage smell. Poor standard.

Room Tip: Do not let the hotel staff take you for a ride. You are the paid customer and do not need to sleep w...
