“Very old hotel, not worth the price!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 February 2012

I stayed in this hotel for 11 nights, for business.
At first, the front desk was really nice, as my luggage got lost, they asked if I needed anything such as toothbrush,... and delivered it to my room.
The front desk and restaurant area looks brand new and nice. My room was on the Starwood Preferred Guests floor and was really old and not convenient. The TV was really old and only had a couple of channels.
The room wasn't always done up properly...
My company paid for the hotel, taxes and breakfast, but when we left (we were 6), we had trouble as they wanted to cash the taxes, so we got into an argument until they found out that we were right.
The wifi is out of price, it's a proper rip-off, do not pay for it! It should be included in the room prices! I didn't pay for it, I used to go to the restaurant and get the free wifi from McDonald's.
If you wanna have a calm drink, don't go to the restaurant, the staff were quite a few times, sat at tables with customers/friends, and making a lot of noise! It's just horrible.
Before going, I read about the heated roof-top pool, well there is one, open from something like 10am to about 5pm, so if you are there for business, forget about it... The same applies to the roof-top restaurant, which is a shame since the view is great!
Definitely not worth the money! Divide the price by 2 and maybe I could eventually recommend it.

Firstly, may I thank you for taking the time to post your comments.
I was glad to read that our reception team looked after you after the loss of your luggage.
However, I am sorry that you didn't find the SPG floor convenient and that the flat screen TV wasn't to your liking.
We do take all comments seriously and appreciate all the feedback we can get. I do apologize for the issue with the team and hope that this did not impact your stay and the possibility of returning back to the hotel.

“Great Location, the rest was ok”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 January 2012

Stayed there with my husband for one night last week, paid for a deluxe sea view room with no breakfast for 350 euros (a bit overpriced) and expected to have a full Mediterranean sea view from the front. However, due to the renovation of the front facade, we only had a room on the side at lower floor seeing the city & partial sea view, which made us disappointed.
The lady who checked us in was not very friendly / helpful, I said I was expecting a room in the front with sea view (not city & partial sea view), she said she could still put us to one of those rooms, but I wouldn't be able to get out / see the view. So if you are expecting a full sea view, I would suggest to wait until the renovation is fully completed.
The location is really great, everything else was just ok.

Dear JJY,
Thank you for your feedback and for taking the time to post your comments. We are pleased to hear that you enjoyed our great location.
We do apologize for the fact that partial scaffolding is covering certain areas of our hotel facade at the present time and for a short period and that you were not given the room you were expecting.
Thank you so much for staying with us and we hope to see you back at Le Méridien Nice in the future.
With my best regards

“Centrally Located Comfortable Hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 January 2012

We spent two nights at Le Meridien Nice right after the New Years celebration and enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Parking was one of my primary concerns in the downtown area of Nice. Meridien provides a valet parking service (for a fee) which was most helpful as we simply drove up, dropped off our luggage and checked into the hotel as our car was taken to the garage.

Hotel staff at checkin were professional and kind, answering all questions we had about the hotel and the surrounding area. Our room was spacious and afforded a nice view of the sea and a downtown park. The city was still decorated with holiday lights and attractions which was nice to see from our room.

Bedding and linens were comfortable and the bathroom was fully equipped with what your would expect of a hotel of this class. Free Wifi internet connections are available throughout the hotel. The breakfast buffet was nice and presented many selections.

Le Meridien is located close to the old town of Nice, a "must see" for its' market, shops and reastaurants.

“Great Location,Great Dining Experience”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 December 2011

I stayed in Le Meridien for 7 days. the location is great , you can see the sea and a beautiful park while you are in the restaurant. the breakfast was amazing and so delicious. the restaurants were one the best food and wine experiences I've ever had. I didn't like the lobby design and since I used to go to W hotels ( another starwood property ) I expected the design of le meridien to be like that. the bed was so comfortable and the rooms was not amazingly designed to impress you but it was clean and everything someone might needed was provided. staff was friendly and well trained but most of the housekeeping staff could not speak English. I recommend this hotel to everyone.

“Nice Property - Great Location!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 December 2011

My husband and I stayed at this hotel using our SPG Points. I am a Platinum member, so I was hoping for a great accommodation. We were there for two nights. The first night we had a standard room overlooking the alley. It was clean and nice. The second night they moved our room to a beautiful location over looking the promenade. It was straight out of the movies. We spent most of the next day on our amazing balcony.

We then asked the front desk to book us with the nearby boat tour. They did so right away and were very helpful. We took the 20 minute walk down the promenade and took in the wonderful sights and sounds of Nice on the waterfront. We then went on the 1-2 hour boat tour (very fun) and then casually walked back to the hotel.

I would recommend this hotel based on its location and the great service the staff provided. The hotel is a bit older, but it has been refreshed and the accommodations are clean and nice.

I miss Europe.

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the water.
