“it's happyness to be there...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 November 2011

Me and my husband spend 2 wonderful days in this hotel. There are 2 things that really excite me:
1. Territory of the hotel and surroundings. It’s a lovely park around hotel, a lot of belvederes and charming little old village Mougins – it worth to visit it and it’s very relaxing to walk there or to sit on the bench under centenary oak in the hotel’s park….
2. and the hotel's approach to their guests – not clients, but guests! Nice approach from every service, little signs of attention, no any inconvenience at all, it’s comfortable to ask any help, changes etc. – people, who has a big experience in expensive staying should understand me - there are 5 star hotels and there are really GOOD hotels and it’s a big difference. May be it was because of low season but I suppose, that it’s hotel policy.
I’d recommend this hotel very much even for very sensitive clients and it’s a right choice for romantic getaway or just for relaxing short or even long weekend.
By the way – it’s very good restaurant in the hotel with really perfect service and some good restaurants in village Mougins worth to visit as well.
The only small remark – there are no Russian TV, even RTR Planet but in such lovely place it’s not so important but pity.

“Stunning!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 November 2011

We have just spent two nights at this wonderful hotel and cannot praise it highly enough.

Our suite was light spacious and well appointed. From the luxuriously comfortable pillows and bedding, to the lovely view of the gardens from the balcony - everything detail had been well thought out.

The bar was warm and welcoming, with atmospheric decor to compliment the age and style of the old 'Mas.' The unique fireplace with a roaring log fire, a bonus on a cooler October evening. Dinner in the Michelin starred restaurant, looking out over the distant twinkling lights of Cannes was a treat and we can especially recommend the chef's signature entree of fois gras tatin with caramelised apple and armagnac sauce. This is certainly the place for serious "foodies."

We enjoyed the short pre dinner stroll into old Mougins. I would imagine in the height of summer, it is very busy, but at this time of year, a delight, with bars, restaurants and galleries to explore. With medieval architecture and narrow, traffic free lanes it is truly stunning. We felt like we had stepped back in time.

We could not complete his review, without thanking the fantastic staff at the hotel. They fully deserve their new award. Nothing was too much trouble, and everything always with a smile. Well done to all the team.

Our one regret? We could not stay longer. We didn't have time to explore the beautiful gardens or take advantage of the Spa and its excellent facilites. A good reason to say "we will return."

Thank you!

“Wonderful”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 October 2011

We do not normally write reviews on Trip Advisor but on this occasion we feel compelled to do so as we had such a wonderful time and were looked after exceptionally well.

We stay in a lot of Relais and Chateau hotels and were very impressed with this hotel and in particular, the Manager, Mr Cosmai, who I feel should be commended for his excellent care and attention to our every need.

We were also very impressed that the owner, Mr Mark Silver, regularly appeared and seemed genuinely interested in any comments, good or bad.

We were lucky to stay in one of the fabulous suites and have absolutely no complaints.

The Terrace at night is wonderful and the food and service excellent - they could not have been more helpful and attentive.

“Disappointing”

The website conveyed a wonderful impression. The reality was a little different. The pool had ordinary furniture and had service by telephone despite there being a bar facility which was not open. 15-20 people were sunbathing and no waiter/waitress in attendance. The bar in the hotel is small and not attractive. The restaurant is attractive but the staff were not welcoming. At breakfast used plates were not cleared away. There is no hot food at the buffet. Guests are not guaranteed a table for dinner. Our experience was the staff did not engage in the restaurant. Altogether very disappointing.

Dear Guest,

thank you for your recent review, please accept my apologies for the time taken in responding to you. i noticed you stayed in September, we were caught out by the extended good weather period into late September, and found ourselves short on staff as we changed from high season to low season, hence the telephone by the pool and no pool staff in attendance. Regarding the breakfast, we made the choice a few years ago to prepare hot breakfasts to order, rather than leave hot food on a buffet. I take your other comments on board, and would be happy to discuss your experience with you in more detail.

“Heaven on Earth”

We have stayed at Le Mas Candille many times. Each time it becomes more perfect. The place itself is gorgeous - two pools, offering both sun and shade to please everyone; two wonderful restaurants, one by the pool and one gourmet restaurant on the terrace overlooking the hills and Grasse; luxuriously appointed rooms; and impeccable service. Room service breakfast comes promptly and is excellent - be sure to have it on your terrace or balcony and enjoy the views!
The two people who consistently stand out on our visits are Giuseppe Cosmai, the excellent hotel manager, and Serge Gouloumes, the chef, whose food is absolutely outstanding! We have eaten at restaurants all over Europe, including many with Michelin stars, and his cuisine is among the best. If you are a real foodie and like to see behind the scenes, ask to sit in the kitchen one night and watch the action - it's amazing! And don't miss having a drink on the terrace before dinner as the sun goes down - it's a magical experience.
The town is very enjoyable - it is small, but has great views and lots of interesting art galleries. You are also a very short distance from Cannes and Grasse. I cannot recommend this hotel enough - it's our favorite place to stay!!
