We spend 1 night in Hotel Prince de Galles and it was a positive experience. Room very spacious, comfortable with a view on the mountains. Staff kindly and efficient. Hotel is located at 10 minutes walk to Menton historical centre, you can follow the promenate on the sea. There is a parking is front of the hotel with few places, but you can park on the avenue of on a private parking (on payment) at 5 minutes walk.
Wi-fi connection for free.

“Excellent holiday”

We decided to have our very first holiday away for Christmas. We are two oldish people me 57 and hubby 63 so it was a hard decision to make, away from family. However, we had absolutly wonderful weather and could not believe we were sunbathing on the balcony of this hotel every day. We had a sea view, double with balcony and the experience was wonderful. The room was spotless and the bed soooooo comfortable, we managed some nights to sleep 10-11 hours which for us is impossible, we only manage 6 -7 hours at home. The staff were supreme and we booked christmas lunch which again was absolutely gorgeous. We cannot say anything bad about this hotel. It was lovely. By the way we did not experience any noise whatsover from the adjoining rooms as per previous reviews.

Room Tip: Sea view, balcony

“Superb!”

We have stayed at this hotel a few times when passing through Menton. It is a charming hotel right on the sea front. I contacted the hotel directly as for some reason were not able to book a room for one night online, the receptionist could not have been more helpful! We requested a room with a balcony and sea view which is exactly what we got. The rooms are small but it is France! They are clean and more than adequate, very handy if you want to sit on the beach and stroll back to the hotel for a shower. The staff are very helpful and friendly. Car parking can be a challenge but we have always managed to find a park without too much of a problem within a small distance of the hotel. Menton itself is quite an interesting town and is worth exploring. It has great restaurants, bars and cafes. There is also a very nice undercover market.

“Small rooms but comfortable beds”

This hotel is on the border between Rocquebrun and Menton. It is quite a walk to the railway station, to the Gare Routiere and the centre of town.but on the other hand you have a lovely view of Menton town from your balcony. We were disappointed with the size of the room and would have felt we were in a cupboard if we did not have a balcony albeit a small balcony.
The beds were very comfortable and we were fortunate that we had a room with a shower only. It was a powerful shower which we enjoyed. It is quite expensive we think for what it is The air conditioning was good because it was very hot during our stay.

Room Tip: If you want a good shower ask foir a room without a bath

“Nice hotel but after the Lord Mayors show”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 September 2011

Having arrived from the Fairmont in Monaco to this hotel in Menton, I suppose is unfair to review it.

The last time I was here was three years ago, the staff are the same which is a good sign, but they have refurbished the lobby/reception area and the breakfast area also.

We stayed on the second floor with a balcony overlooking the Med, the curtains were blackout curtains and were needed first thing in the morning as the sun was very strong and bounced off the sea, it's a good idea when opening up the curtains to pop on a pair of sunglasses.

The room was very small, but we soon got used to it, the bathroom was nice and clean and stocked with the usual gels and soaps, but the walls are paper thin, so you do get to hear all sorts of noises there is also air con in the room controlled via a remote and also a LCD TV.

The breakfast was a buffet style breakfast and was hit and miss, some mornings there were cereals others they were missing, and you only had a choice of two juices and no cooked breakfast, but you could have scrambled eggs or omelette to order, you can either sit in and eat or eat on the balcony overlooking the Med but it can get hot out there.

The bar has now moved from the breakfast area to the reception area, and there are two computers with internet access in the reception area.

Attached to the hotel is the "Le Petit Prince" which is a must if you are staying, and is a must even if you are not staying as their food is fantastic.

There is an area to sun bath should you wish to, this is on the first floor terrace.
