Having arrived from the Fairmont in Monaco to this hotel in Menton, I suppose is unfair to review it.
The last time I was here was three years ago, the staff are the same which is a good sign, but they have refurbished the lobby/reception area and the breakfast area also.
We stayed on the second floor with a balcony overlooking the Med, the curtains were blackout curtains and were needed first thing in the morning as the sun was very strong and bounced off the sea, it's a good idea when opening up the curtains to pop on a pair of sunglasses.
The room was very small, but we soon got used to it, the bathroom was nice and clean and stocked with the usual gels and soaps, but the walls are paper thin, so you do get to hear all sorts of noises there is also air con in the room controlled via a remote and also a LCD TV.
The breakfast was a buffet style breakfast and was hit and miss, some mornings there were cereals others they were missing, and you only had a choice of two juices and no cooked breakfast, but you could have scrambled eggs or omelette to order, you can either sit in and eat or eat on the balcony overlooking the Med but it can get hot out there.
The bar has now moved from the breakfast area to the reception area, and there are two computers with internet access in the reception area.
Attached to the hotel is the "Le Petit Prince" which is a must if you are staying, and is a must even if you are not staying as their food is fantastic.
There is an area to sun bath should you wish to, this is on the first floor terrace.
