Nice clean room, which was very large and good location for Cannes Airport. Nice restaurants just down by the marina that the receptionist directed me to.

Having stayed at the Royal Casino Hotel on previous occasions we were pleased to come back again for a few days' break. We were pleased at the improvement to the decor of the Hotel to style it now a "Pullman" Hotel. However we would have liked to have had a few improvements such as a "bed -turn-down" service in the evening so that guests would have come back to a room freshly prepared before retiring for the night. The dinner menu gave limited selection and was not changed during the week we were there. The lack of a suitable "snack-light menu" restaurant was noticed. The breakfast menu gave excellent choice.

Turned up on spec at 5pm after a 6hr drive, when our reservations in Mandelieu fell through (and after Tourist Information told us there was not a single room to be had in resort that night) and immediately booked a great ground-floor room with a fab balcony overlooking the sea and pool. Helpful bellman sorted the bags, then straight down to the pool and beach, which are integral to the hotel. Delicious and falrly priced (12E apiece) cocktails helped wash away the trauma of the journey, after which we retired upstairs to put the kids down to sleep and order room service (c15 - 25E for a main course, 30E+ for wine) which was super-fast and very tasty. All to the background light of fireworks from the Cannes festival. Then an excellent nights' sleep in a superb bed.

Huge variety of breakfast on offer the next morning, although we were unfortunate enough to be seated outside next to a chain-smoking octagenarian who I wanted to smother with her own elderly poodle. Not the hotel's fault though - vive le ban in the UK.

Total cost for the night was around 450E, and we considered it good value. Will be returning.
