“Lovely Hotel!”

I thought it was about time a new review was posted for the Hotel Aldo as the last one was 2006!! My husband and I just returned yesterday (23/06/2009) having spent a week in the Aldo. The rooms have been refurbished and although quite small they are clean and fresh and the small shower room was a delight - all updated, new shower (good power and water supply) new tiles etc. Air conditioning was excellent! Small balcony (one at a time) with street view but for people watching what can be better! However, a two minute walk to the Promenade and who needs a balcony! I would also like to mention the room service which was excellent and room cleaned and new towels every day and although only staying a week the bed linen was changed. Thank you.

We booked this ourselves and Diana was very helpful and it was nice to meet both her and her husband. Thank you.

I got over 25 bed bug bites covering my body from this hotel. It's sad because, honestly, the owners were absolutely wonderful, the location can't be beat, and the price was great. But after several nights of itching I found a bug in my bed. I thought it was a strange tick because I had never seen a bed bug before in my life. When we got to the next city in France I went to a pharmacie and saw a poster of noxious bugs, saw THE bug, and then I realized that I had been eaten alive by bed bugs in the night at Hotel Aldo. It is now 2 weeks later and some of the bites still itch and some have left scars. I emailed the hotel and have not heard back yet. They also promised a sea view room (the reason I chose this hotel in the first place), and we didn't get one, but they gave us 2 free breakfasts instead. In any case, I can't possibly recommend them now.
