We stayed here in August 2009 and we stayed in the same room as the one in HiJackItlays review. Everything that he said is correct. The hallway is narrow and quite dark, the room is small with little room around the bed and there are bars on the window and blue plastic containers (probably for something to do with the pool) outside the bedroom window. But I have to include the positives which are although it was a bit dated and slightly tatty in places, everything was very clean, the bed was comfortable, the staff very friendly and the pool was great with plenty of sun-beds and towels etc. Also the entire en-suite bathroom was brand new and very tastefully decorated which definitely made up for the dated room. We never ate there because it is so close to the town that it is only a 2 minute walk to breakfast, lunch and dinner.
The reason I am writing this is because I think HiJackItlays review is only focusing on negatives. In 2007 we stayed in the lovely Hotel St Valerie which is on the same street and everything was perfect (except for a ridiculously small pool). It is a lovely place but it is very expensive at approx 250 Euros per night. But hey it's the south of France and very close to Cape D'Antibes so you are going to have to pay a price for any hotel you stay in.
We loved the South of France and particularly Juan les Pins relaxed and slightly kitch character and it's fabulous location for exploring the whole region so we decided ot go back in 2009 but we were on more of a budget that time so we chose Hotel Juan Beach.
My point is at 150 Euros per night, Hotel Juan Beach is very good value in one of the most expensive regions in Europe to holiday and we would definitely stay there again but if youre looking for the perfect room, perfect hotel perfect view and perfect location then I'm sure there are a few hotels in Juan les Pins that will deliver for many times the price you pay here.
