“A delightful hotel!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 March 2011

I had previously stayed in this hotel in 1965 when, on my first trip abroad I attended the Jazz Festival. In going back after 45 years I feared I might be disappointed but I was not. The hotel is charming and very well situated close to the beach, the pinede and the shops and boutiques. The street is quiet and the secure car park is a bonus. The decor is old- style Provencal and I would recommend the hotel to anyone who dislikes the anonimity of larger hotels.

“great location, clean & value for money”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 September 2010

I travelled solo and Found this hotel to be perfect. The owners go the extra mile to keep you comfortable. Room is a decent size and shower tiny BUT all is immaculately clean. It gives a great feeling of the locals way of living . . .love the shutters u can close. All equipment works and a very comfortable bed for good sleep. Great to come back to after a day of being out. Very close to metro and beach and tourist office. So overall a perfect place for a budget holiday without compromising on important things like cleanliness, aircon, clean linen and friendly staff.

“Lovely place and great location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 April 2010

Would definitely recommend staying here for the location - very central in JLP and near the beach but not at all noisy. Service was really good. Clean hotel. Room wasn't that big but wasn't tiny either. Breakfast was quite basic but what we expected - a yoghurt, french baguette and plain croissant with coffee or tea and with orange juice. Only negative was that when our car was parked in the hotel car park someone scraped their car against ours and left us with £150 of damage! Not the hotel's fault but be careful!!

“Wait till you get more euros for your pound”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 July 2009

We booked this hotel through Venere as a direct booking was not possible. Prices worked out the same, anyway, at around £76 a night including a very basic breakfast. The hotel would have been good value when the euro was weaker but now that seems a lot to pay for a smallish room with tiny shower room/toilet accessed by a rickety plastic folding door. At least the air con was included in this price; a must for when the nights are hot and if you want to muffle the sounds of the noisy street outside. It's not rowdy holidaymakers but street cleaners, binmen, builders and other passing tradesmen who all enjoy conducting loud conversations with the people on the fifth floor of the flats opposite. Juan Les Pins is an expensive resort so if you're on a budget, use the 200 bus to get here from Nice airport, and buy a carnet of tickets for the local buses where you can travel as often as you like within 3 hours for 1 euro. Do like the locals do and eat in the local Flunch next to the Carrefour hypermarket, and don't hanker after too many ice creams or coffees because they cost £3-£4 pounds each. Prices become more reasonable as you go inland, and we would recommend excursions to Biot (Village) and St. Paul de Vence.

“charming & efficient”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 June 2009

In Juan les Pins for a family visit and looking for a clean, comfortable hotel in a central location I found La Marjolaine by chance and was delighted: room small but perfectly formed, clean, comfortable, overlooking garden & quiet street. When the midsummer morning light woke me at 05.30 I mentioned this to the owner. By the evening he had fixed a heavy, dark curtain and I then slept until 8 for the next two mornings! Breakfast adequate; shower hot 24/7; service friendly. Prices reasonable for the area: five minutes from the station, restaurants and beach. On the button.
