I stayed here with my partner for 3 nights in May for a short break, the first thing that impressed us is the fact that we could check in early as the room was already available. Some places are so uptight about this !
The room was pleasantly decorated and overlooked the pleasant pool and courtyard area. Again in typical French fashion there's not a great deal of room round the bed but served its purpose well.
It's in a great location for the train station aswell which makes for travelling around the coast a doddle.
It's also one of the few hotels that has a stylish bar area that you might want to drink in which I did on several occasions without breaking the bank. (As do a few locals)
It's also a short walk to the Juan Promenade and bars/clubs and many restaurants that Les pins has to offer.

Just returned from four night stay at the Saint charles. Very helpful staff, full of useful local information.
Our room was clean and comfortable, with a fridge and tv. The bathroom had a powerful shower. The room was cleaned every day.
The location was good, about five minutes walk to the beach, shops and bars.
We hired a car, but the public transport was very good.

This was a disappointing experience. Having gone through the rave reviews given to this hotel by other travellers we decided to try this place out.

It is not a terrible hotel but the best description would be: nice budget hotel for backpackers and travellers. Our expectations were of a true boutique hotel and judging by the glossy photos we saw on the hotel's website, that's what we were expecting.
Negatives: the smell of cigarette smoke wafting throughout the hotel. The reception doubles as the bar, which is fine, except that the sliding door from the street with the outside tables opens directly onto the bar/reception, which means anyone inside is treated to lungfulls of the secondhand smoke from the bar customers seated outside. Not pleasant.
The rooms were basic and while some effort had been made with decor, a room with a torn curtain, a bathroom with mildrewed tiles and paper-thin walls made me feel as though I was in a youth hostel.
On the plus-side, the staff are very friendly and welcoming, the bar is cosy and the location right by the station, so great for exploring the region.

From comfirmation of our booking until the day we left we can find nothing negative to say about this gem of a hotel. It is not a mega expensive luxurious hotel but it is quirky, characterful and clean with all amenities. The staff are the friendliest we have ever come across, going out of their way to help us in every way and chatting as though we were old friends.
The bar which doubles very effectively as a reception was a great place to drink and chat and the music is turned off at 10 pm, making a quiet nights sleep no problem. We only had breakfast once but it was great, croissant, coffee, juice, ham, cheese and baguettes and anything else you want.
Our room (number 4) was big and comfortable with a clean bathroom and beautiful shuttered windows. It even had a fridge!
Really, if you are looking for somewhere just a little bit out of the ordinary that is cheaper than all the hotels on the seafront - look no further. It is beautiful, reasonable, in a great location and full of wonderful staff!
