We booked direct with the hotel. Read several reviews and went along with an open mind. We were very impressed with what we found and would definately stay here again! We booked a superior room, well worth the extra! We had a ground floor room with a terrace it was lovely, clean and very modern. Hotel staff very friendly and helpful. We didn't hear any noise from the bar or other guests. Great location, 2 min to the bars/restaurants and the beach. Private beaches looked very cramped and are about 20 euros for a sun longer for the day. Public beach is free, no loungers available but more space! Juan les Pins is not the rip off people say, Set daily menus seem to be the norm and the best option, 3 courses about 25-35 euros. A glass of wine 4 euros and a beer about the same. Salads 8-12 euro. Mussells and Frites 10-12 euros. We booked a car but decided to cancel it and had no regrets! The train service is very good. It runs along the front. 7 min to Cannes 40 min to Monaco. 4 min to Antibes. You can get the boat to St Tropez for a great day out.

We spent four nights at this hotel and very much enjoyed our stay. The room was clean and the hotel is very close to the train station and a short walk to the beach. The hotel bar was very quiet while we were there (weekdays in June) and thus we did not experience any noise from the bar at night. The hotel owners are very friendly and gave us great sightseeing tips. This is a very gay friendly hotel. We rented a car for our stay and though the hotel has two parking spots they were always taken so we struggled to find street parking daily which is not easy in this town. Overall, a great stay and would
highly recommend as a great value and great location.

The hotel Saint Charles is a very nice hotel experience!

This is In fact a small cozy hotel that tries to behave as a big luxury hotel.
The result is somewhat different but so much more charming!

Hotel Saint Charles is a welcoming and happy place and definitely something you’ve never seen before! From the outside the place doesn’t look very posh, in fact we were a little bit afraid at first sight, but as soon as we entered we were seduced by the friendly atmosphere and the Miami beach-guesthouse style deco with smooth tasteful coloring. The atmosphere with the delightfully decorated rooms laid out around the pool area is just too charming, and in fact rarely seen in this part of the world. The light coloring and lack of dark cupboards and thick carpets etc gives an assurance of it’s cleanliness.

The owners have made en effort to make every moment of the day and every different area of the hotel into something delightful and unexpected. Great breakfasts, personal service, a great bar with correctly served cocktails, good DJ:s and a friendly international crowd.
Sure, everything was not perfect, (we could sometimes hear our neighbor taking a shower, beds were great but some of the other furniture was maybe a bit cheap), but in all, it’s well done, in all it seemed very honest and it’s definitely a great value for money! We’ll be back!

I was very torn when deciding how to write this review. I must say that this is one hotel that has left me very split in my view.

The way to look at this hotel and decide whether or not to stay there is to be armed with the facts. I think my expectations were too high and I was disappointed. However, if I had known before what I shall tell you now in this review, the hotel would have been bang on.

In a nutshell, this is a budget hotel with a cool scene. It is ideal for students and travellers. It is not ideal for those looking for a true boutique hotel. I think that is a misleading description. It is low cost, the rooms are cheaply decorated, the beds are cheap and uncomfortable and the bathroom is not nice. Having said that, for the price you are paying, it is fine - and I should have realised that when I booked - I was expecting W hotel standards for bed and breakfast pricing, so I do blame myself and not the hotel. I think the previous reviews are inaccurate and the descriptions make you think this hotel is uber cool and trendy and chic, but that is not the case. Yes, the bar is fun and the staff are great but it's rough around the edges and the rooms are not luxury. Let's disect:

On arrival:
The "reception" is actually the bar, which is great and a fun welcome.

The rooms:
Disappointing. They are generally clean (except the bathroom), the floors are white tiles, the beds are clean but very cheap and uncomfortable - and they separate in a major way down the middle if you're looking for a double. The bathroom is tiny and the shower tray was pretty gross. There was no shower curtain and the plug was blocked so you could only take a 3 minute shower otherwise the bathroom would have flooded, and the tray leaves soap residue behind, it really wasn't pleasant and I was looking forward to getting out of the room.

The Bar:
Rough around the edges but fun and nice people. Staff were great, very helpful and no complaints. The DJ made the place that much more fun too.

The Pool:
Not really a pool but more of a paddling carveout. Looked clean enough.

The Service:
Great, friendly and helpful - nice people.

Tips:
Book airport transfer well in advance, this resort has like no taxis.

Juan les Pins is not a luxury resort, the 20 minute walk to Antibes (which also isn't luxury but is nicer) is worth it.
