“Average hotel in good central location with parking”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 January 2012

In mid-January we were amazed by the lack of reasonable hotels open in Juan-les-Pins - nearly all were closed or being refurbished. We spent a Sunday night here and the Astoria is exactly what is says on the tin - location is excellent (right in the centre close to everything), staff are very friendly, room OK, breakfast OK, price OK given location and it has its own small car park behind - which even in January was a godsend.

Room Tip: We had a 'prestige' room, the better of the two categories, on the 4th floor at the back whi...

“Good hotel and location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 January 2012

The hotel is well located good. Juan les Pins town is very nice and very well captures the charm of Côte d'Azur. is much better to stay here than in crowded Nice. The hotel is very close to the beach and promenade. medium sized rooms, comfortable beds, so I slept very well after long walks during the day. I recommend this hotel.

“Satisfying budget stay, close to beach and train”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 October 2011

Stayed for 3 nights as a couple on our honeymoon in the middle of September 2011. Decent budget stay, good value for money, but admittedly very basic. The hotel is 2 blocks from the beach (public beach is about 4 blocks away) and 1 block from the train station. The rooms are larger than expected, have air con, wifi and are very clean. There is limited parking in the area. Breakfast is available for 10 Eur, but we eat at the cafes across the street. The hotel is also very close to some great restaurants and shopping and is walking distance to anything in Juan les Pins. (then again, most things are as the town is pretty small). The staff were helpful and even offered us a free power converter when our one died. Recommended for a quick stay if you are looking for budget conscious value and comfort.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the road have a peak-a-boo sea view down the road.

“Close to everything and friendly service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 October 2011

We stayed in a suite at the Best Western at Juan-Le-Pins so can't comment on the normal room type, but the suite was spacious and view was excellent. The suite had a large rooftop area , generous living area, good bathroom and separate bedroom.
The staff were very friendly and free Wi-Fi was provided (although Best Western Wi-Fi is very problematic on iPads).

Room Tip: Choose the suite for more space and an excellent rooftop area.

“Only if you don't have any other options...”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 October 2011

The hotel was as expected if you're just passing. I stayed here for 3 nights and the hotel itself was okay. The room was okay but needs maintenance --- looked and smelled old. The bathroom needed further cleaning but it's still bareable not as bad. Hotel towels were fairly thin. The view from the balcony was not inspiring....the room was facing the regular apartments. I booked the privelege room -- not sure how different this room from the other rooms but one thing I appreciated about this hotel was that they provide a complimentary bottled water and other drinks. This is great especially if you are tired and just came off from a long train ride. WIFI service was (is) free but I had a hard time w/ the constant logins it required me to do. My ipad didn't work in this hotel. Very close to the train station but be careful of pick pocketers in this area. Laundrymat self-service is just around the corner (7 am - 10 pm). Breakfast buffet is just so-so...if you know of other places, go and experience that other option. It's a great place to just walk around since there are a lot of good restuarants, bars and great little stores so many blocks away. If you decide to walk around --- just be careful. French people love their dogs...so just be careful. You don't want to be stepping on something you don't want. The casino nearby is just so-so. This hotel is a good base hotel as you explore Cannes, Nice and Monaco. But at the end of the day, you would want to stay in one of those places which I would be doing the next time I'm around the area.

If you don't have any other option, this hotel is okay and the surrounding area is okay too but I must say Hotel staff were nice and accomodating so kudos to them.
