“Excellent facility and welcoming staff”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 March 2010

The Auberge des Adrets hosted my wedding ceremony and reception, and the experience was truly special. Cosima was a gracious and professional hostess. The facilities and grounds of the Auberge were spotless! Very French, but with a modern attention to detail. Our guests loved the setting both indoors and out. I would definitely recommend the location for a romantic weekend or an event.

My husband and I also spent our wedding night at the Auberge. The rooms were all beautifully decorated, and the service was impeccable. The rooms were also all rather large for France! Breakfast was amazing (best croissant that I ate the entire week in France).

Additionally, the drive through the hills to the Auberge was worth the trip. It is a place we will return in the future.

“Beautiful wedding at Auberge des Adrets”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 February 2010

On January 16, 2010 we celebrated our wedding reception at the Auberge des Adrets in Frejus. Even in wintertime the drive up to the location is beautiful with a view on the snowy mountains in the distance. The auberge has a very warm admosphere in wintertime, with big fireplaces and beautiful decorations. It feels spacious because of different rooms where the guests can go, but cosy at the same time. The dinner, which we had outside on the heated veranda, was very elegantly presented and of great taste. Staff was good, organization beforehand with great care so we knew everything would work out just fine. Planning kitchen well done, good care for guests with special dietary requirements. Inside the 'restaurant area' a good space to dance and have a party. Dancing went on until last guests were tired, around 4 am.
The rooms of the hotel are again spacious, elegant, romantic. Bridal suite just great! Every room has it's own style, all are beautifully decorated. Not many rooms available and not cheap eighter, but it was worth it and convenient for the very young guests. Breakfast should be included though!
We will definitely go back on a warm summer evening to enjoy a wonderful meal out on the veranda and take in the green surroundings!

“Expensive. Very near busy/noisy road and a long way from civilisation!”

The staff were very attentive and the place was wonderfully clean, but for £175 a night without breakfast it was expensive. It is a very simple place that has been sympathetically converted but once you are a guest you have little choice but to pay for what they ask, which is very expensive compared to what is also available locally, but some 10 miles (16km) drive away on a very winding mountain road. The staff booked some fantastic meals out and catered for us very well, with the exception of arriving home one evening to find there was no hot water (they had forgotten to order and refill their gas tank) so we had a 36hrs without hot water, which bearing in mind the cost was not satisfactory. We stayed for 8 nights and ate in the restaurant twice, although it is closed on a Monday evening, the second time was the night before we left and I couldn’t be bothered to drive 20miles for a meal out and fancied a drink. The food is superb, but again expensive, as is the wine with the setting dramatic. We were given a ‘complimentary’ bottle of house champagne on our last night for the troubles encountered, so they did try. Overall the stay was very relaxing, the setting lovely but its not near the sea and has a racetrack of a road (N7) about 10 feet (2.5m) from the front door of the hotel which they don’t show on any of the pictures. Its expensive for what it is, although of a good standard, but I won’t be going back as I found far nicer, better located and cheaper alternatives when we were out and about. A quirky ‘boutique hotel’ that has a long way to go.

“Nice Hotel!”

We have just returned from a 4 night stay at the Auberge des Adrets and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The standard of decor is very high, with all rooms being indiviudally styled. It is a very old building but has been sympathetically modernised. It is a small, family run hotel and so you do tend to lose some of the efficiencies that come with a larger hotel, but all the staff were more than helpful. I'd would recommend it for a short stay - but you do need a car. Whilst not far from Frejus. it is up in the hills and there's not much around it! If I had to pick fault (which I don't really want to) it would be to say that its very close to the road and despite is being quite remote it does seems to attarct a lot of traffic, and in particular motorbikes. So, a relaxing snooze by the pool can be somewhat interupted! The food and service in the restaurant was very good, if a little inconsistent. We stayed on a half board basis and so ate there every evening. The first meal we had was mid week and was average, yet the on the weekend evenings the meals were suberb - so, not sure if it was the head chef's night off!

“Hotel Auberge -- Fantastic!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 July 2005

We had a fantastic stay at this hotel. It is small, quiet, with a beautiful view (it's nestled in the hills near Cannes). Rooms are beautiful and the grounds of the hotel are very relaxing - we had wine in the gazebo, the pool amidst the lush flowers, drank wine before dinner overlooking the hills on huge white chairs, sat in the gigantic hammock and just enjoyed the scenery. The best part, however, is the food. The chef is exceptional - so much so we ate there both nights we stayed there. The staff is very attentive - especially Sophie - who made sure we had everything we needed. Short drive to Cannes, about 1 hour from St. Tropez (but leave early to avoid the hours of traffic). There's also a helipad in case you want to "copter" in (a sign you're in a very nice place!) Would absolutely stay there again!!
