We booked this hotel online from the UK, booking was guaranteed it said. I emailed them to say that we'd be arriving at about 21.00hrs and would we be able to eat in the restaurant. We were travelling from Paris on the TGV, having put our car on to the autotrain. We had to get a taxi from the rail station, when we arrived a notice said the the hotel was full, no problem we thought,,as we had a guaranteed booking. How wrong we were, they said that they had tried to verify the card we had used and it hadn't gone through, we had already used it to bookand pay for a Premiere Classe hotel in Paris so knew that there wasn't a problem with the card. So the hotel staff had cancelled our booking and refused to help us find another hotel in the area. I had to phone our son in the UK on my mobile and my husband had to walk around the area, up to 2 miles away, to try and find us some accommodation, a Youth Hostel manager kindly found us a bed for the night, otherwise we would have been sleeping on the beach. We are now in the process of trying to get recompense, unfortunately no-one answers the emails, so am in the process of wrting to directors.
