The hotel is in a pleasant location just above the township of Eze between Nice and Monte Carlo, and the front rooms overlook the bay. The hotel is well presented and clean in a heritage style building, rooms are nicely decorated, although rather compact, making this more of a summer hotel where guests could make use of the balcony and gardens. We liked the fact that hotel was away from the hustle and bustle, yet was only short drive or bus ride/drive into Eze, Nice or Monte Carlo
Breakfast was very ordinary - after the 20 odd hotel nights we spent during our European vacation it was the most expensive and least appealing.
The half board option, is not really an option. We were quite disappointed in the offerings here, and regretted taking this as an option. Although the restaurant is beautifully setup, and we understand has a strong a la carte following, it is expensive, and given our experience we would next time visit Eze or Monte Carlo to dine which are a very short distance away.
One other thing, given the isolation of the hotel, we would have liked access to guest facilities such as tea making facilities, as the only option was the restaurant, and when you are spending a couple of nights somewhere it is sometimes nice just to be able access these facilities without going to the restaurant (we did find that only about 50% of French hotels offered this facility though).
Some reviewers noted the language as a barrier – we did not find this an issue, we spoke little French, and got by just fine. Overall a lovely location and a nicely run hotel with friendly and helpful hosts.
