This is one hotel that everyone should have the opportunity to experience at least once in their lifetime. Located on a private peninsula, it offers breathtaking views of the Mediterranean. It's a very small hotel, with only 14 suites and 4 rooms. We had a suite on the second level on the main part of the hotel. From the left side of our large bedroom, the floor to ceiling windows overlooked the water down the coast toward Monaco. Directly in front of our bed, we had an entire wall of floor to ceiling glass looking out over the Mediterranean. The suite consisted of the bedroom, a huge private patio with electric awnings, an office/study, two bathrooms, and a huge dressing room. The study also had beautiful water views. With the blinds electrically controlled, a push of a button gave us the feeling we were in a James Bond movie. The suites are also arranged so that our suite could become part of a larger suite that includes multiple bedrooms, living room, dining room, kitchen, etc. With the small number of rooms and guests you have an experience which is very different from that of the typical larger hotel.
We arrived later than expected, around midnight, and were greeted by the General Manager. He was very friendly and spent a good 20 minutes giving us a tour around the hotel and explaining it's history. Service was top notch. We stayed there 2 nights and did not get to eat dinner there, so can't comment on the food. We had a car and Monaco is an easy 10 minute drive.
The infinity pool overlooking the water is beautiful. They also have another pool inside, which is below ground, together with the exercise room, but it also has full windows overlooking the Mediteranean. Even the sauna had water views. But don't come here expecting a real beach type experience. The hotel is situated on a bluff. They do have a small beach area off to one side of the hotel with sand, but there are large pebbles and it's a bit rocky going into the actual water. You could certainly use the beach, but it's not like a beach in Hawaii or Miami.
The pictures on their website are good, but it's really one of those places that is so magnificently panoramic that it's difficult to capture the sweeping beauty of the setting. We can't wait to go back.
