“Gorgeous.”

Cap Estel is a gorgeous hotel, really stunning. The main building is elegant and well-designed, the view is to die for, and the infinity pool is a dream. Even the gym has a 100+ degree view of the Med. We loved our stay here and I would probably go back because it's such a beautiful and special place, but I do have some reservations.

We were upgraded from our original room to an amazing suite built into the cliff with a 180degree view of the ocean and completely private/hidden balconies. Amazing. However, the room itself was very small and the furniture/decor was surprisingly very average (the kind you'd see in a nondescript hotel elsewhere) - not what you expect given the elegance of the main building, the gorgeous setting, and the list price for the suite.

Second, the service is generally disinterested and unresponsive, and was particularly so when we had an issue we were hoping they could resolve. We called a number of times asking if they could fix the internet, and it took them 36 hours to send someone. When someone did finally come by it wasn't fixed. We called back, someone came again, and again it wasn't resolved. When we talked to the front desk staff about this they were non-committal. Only at the end of the stay when we brought it up again did they tell us that the internet hadn't been working in the whole property for the entire duration of our stay, something that it would have been nice to have been informed of earlier. Also, the service at the cafe is very slow and be warned, prices are very high - 35 euros for a hamburger (although the service at the restaurant for dinner was very good).

Again, this really is a lovely hotel, and certainly worth visiting if you can, but doesn't provide the kind of flawless experience you should be able to expect at this price range. I'd love to see the management focus on the issues above because it could then easily become one of the best hotels we've ever had the good fortune to experience.

“You'll never forget this place...”

Cap Estel is by far the most beautiful and unique place we've stayed. We started our two week trip to France here. And everything from accommodations, to food, and the property and the servers were excellent. I agree with another reviewer it is James Bondesque when you first enter the property through big, beautiful wrought iron gates. It is not an easy place to find if you don't know where you're going and we didn't. But an hour later (from our venture out) we found it thanks to the local office of tourism nearby.

We were fortunate to have a room right on the Mediterranean and were lulled to sleep by the crashing waves. When it was it was for us to leave, we did not want to go even though we knew we had other exciting places to visit. I suggest a long stay here if you can find an opening. The property only accommodates a small number at a time, so you feel like you're staying at someone's home but with plenty of privacy, just loved that. We can't wait to plan our return trip there before a year expires. On the only negative note, yes like someone else mentioned internet access is sporadic, but they did their very best to assist my husband with this issue. Personally, I think you should just relax and try to do without the internet while you're here to get the full effect as I did:)

Cap estel for our honeymoon was stunning. Charming service, even though we were probably the poorest people who had ever been there, 900 per night cheapest room. Worth every penny, our room carved into the cliff over the private beech was amazing.

Probably the best hotel on the Cote D'Azur. I saw several rooms or suites and they all were magnificent. The entire property is maintained with perfection. Food is exquisite. Service is relaxed but obliging. Entering Hotel Cap Estel is a step into a world of luxury.

“This place comes back to me in my dreams.”

I stayed here for a month last year while working on a film and the views are second to none. I felt every day as though my eyes would just give out because they couldn't take in all of the beauty.
I was there with co-workers so I saw a lot of the suites - two huge suites in the main house are amazing, like homes. I stayed in a two bedroom room in the yellow house, which is a little hike up from the main house, but it's good for you to walk! We had a few language issues, the internet is a real problem, and the downside is that you're in the middle of nowhere, so you need a car or driver to go anywhere, but if you're here on vacation, this shouldn't be a problem. It just got old because we were there for so long. The food in the restaurant here is very expensive and not that impressive for the prices. No matter what, though, this place is very close to perfection, and breakfast on the terrance looking out at the sea and over to Monaco...ah, bliss.
