“I do not want to stay in this place again”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 August 2009

We booked a room in march and was expenting to get a balcony since there were plenty of app left. But we did not! They placed us at an app. in the first witch was very noisy and small. I suspect that they are retiteling the app. We payed for the best one, but we did not get one of the best app. The aircond were leeking and we had to quarrel and argue to get a new room with a little more space at the 5th floor. The area around the pool was small and not a place you want to stay if you do not have children.
The building and the area around is not nice, but right nearby there is a stunning beach and the old city.
One thing, the aircond. worked well!

“The worst hotel ever”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 April 2008

This place is not even really a hotel. The reception is only open either early in the morning or late at night, and there is absolutely no one there in the hours that the desk is not open. The pool is tiny and disgusting. The checkout was not open when I had to leave, and they charged my credit card 30euros for I dont even know what. Apparently expedia claims that towels, linens, and cleaning are not included in their rate. This is ridiculous, what kind of hotel doesnt give you linens, towels, and cleaning services? The room was clean, I'll give them that much, but this place is not a hotel. Dont Stay There!!!

Hello erin_k2,
I'm aware you posted your review quite a while ago, but I wanted to post a reply to clear up any confusion.

The Maeva Les Felibridges residence is not a hotel, but are self-catering holiday apartments.

Customers choose this accommodation as an affordable way to see Cannes or the South of France. Costs are so affordable because normal amenities customers pay premiums for in hotels are not included. For PV-Holidays, this includes a 24 receptione, linen, towels and cleaning. All this information is easily accesible via each of the property pages on our website and customers are aware of this before booking.

I can see you booked through Expedia for this property- and the facts above should have been made clear to you before booking if you were expecting to stay at a hotel.

Alongside this, we have a strict procedure to ensure that all of our apartments are cleaned thoroughly and appliances checked before new guests arrive.

We hope this clears up any queries you have about the status of the residence.

We hope you choose one of our properties again soon.

Very best wishes

“Apartment holiday. Come and go as you please”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 September 2005

September 05. Have not stayed in an apartment in France previously and could not find any reviews on this particular one but booked 5 days anyway for the experience! We decided to have a break where we could please ourselves and decided that self catering was the best option. These apartments are fairly inexpensive. You are charged per room and there is no under occupancy charge. We booked a studio apartment for up to 4 persons although there were only 2 of us. There were no 3 person apartments available at the time. Please note you do not get a balcony with the studio apartments. I was expecting one so was quite disappointed but soon got over it. If I were to book again, which is a strong possibilty I would not go for a studio. Ours was very small. The sizes of the studios are given when booking on the internet so we were aware but not prepared for the actual size in real life! The living area had a a table and 4 chairs, a cooking area, which included a fridge, cooker and dishwasher. There was also a coffee maker as advertised. This is no substitute for a kettle. We like our tea so we boiled water in a saucepan. There were plenty of plates and tiny coffee cups. Bring your own cups or drink out of the soup bowls! There was a sofa bed, which when made into a bed took quite alot of the space. It was clean and quite comfortable. It woud be quite a squeeze with 4 people in the room. There were bunk beds in another very small room. We used this room to store our suitcases and clothes as there was a very tiny wardrobe/broom cupboard in the main living area. It really was a broom cupboard with a bucket and brushes and coat hangers stored in it. The cutlery was stored under the television in a cabinet. The bathroom was a decent size but the toilet was very small i.e. your legs touched the door when it was closed and I am a small person!

Booking information for Maeva Felibriges state check in time is 5 p.m.
We arrived at 1.45 p.m. on the off chance and reception opened at 2 p.m. It is not open all day. You get a set of clean sheets and pillow cases at the start of your stay. There is no charge for this but there is a charge of 5 euros for a set of towels and bath mat per person per week. There is also a charge if you use the television. It's the customer's responsibility to clean the room and dispose of rubbish. There is a bin area on each floor. You can pay for a cleaner if you don't want to do it yourself. The apartment was clean when we arrived and the kitchen area and crockery etc.. were spotless. The dishwasher was a boon. Luckily we brought some dishwasher tablets with us. You can buy a cleaning pack from reception. Thought I'd give a detailed description of what to expect as I could find no information before I went and would have appreciated a review. There is also air conditioning and heating in the apartment. We didn't use the pool as there weren't any sunbeds out and didn't see anyone else use it. There was probably no need because these residences are situated a very short walk to public beaches. It was located in close proximity to shops, takeaways and restaurants. You'll be spoiled for choice. We did think the location was ideal. We arrived from Nice airport and took a bus to Cannes which was a 30 - 40 minute ride with absolutely no hassle and it's a short walk from the bus station. We did enjoy our stay and it became almost a home from home and makes a change from staying in hotels. If you like to be waited on in luxurious surroundings this is not the place for you but if you want to totally relax, eat in or out, try cooking some of the local produce then I would recommend it. I would also recommend paying 35E for the cleaning service, which we didn't and had a job getting the apartment spotless at the end of our stay! Not sure how to rate this as not comparable to a hotel but would stay there again.
