“Nice small hotel with good atmoshpere”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 January 2012

The entire hotel, decoration, furniture, sea views, fresh air of morning and evening, the silence of the night so that it is good, in short, all was well, if I return Cannes I would resume the same hotel.
The room was very nice and comfortable, breakfast spacieuse.Le excellent and varied.
I was disappointed not being able to use the jacuzzi and close piscine.leur not specified when booking.

Room Tip: Traditional room (chip) its very small (really small). But its so typical for more french hotels

“Beautiful Hotel, but sadly on the decline....”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 June 2011

We booked 5 nights to stay at this hotel, and were really looking forward to our stay, however could not help but feel a little disappointed upon arrival.

The hotel is set in beautiful surroundings, very peaceful & quiet. I imagine the hotel in its hay day, was stunning, but sadly we felt that it was currently lacking some TLC.

The staff were very helpful, with Benjamin (front desk) being very kind, & upgrading us to a larger room, with a lovely terrace, due to the amount of luggage we had!

We chose not to pay the additional 18 euros pp for breakfast each morning, as it looked pretty sad, with the breakfast cereals and jams etc being left out all day every day - not a great advertisment!. The hotel had a bar, and pool table, which would have been great to use, however the only member of staff who was visible at any time, was the front desk/reception.

Again the hotel had a very nice pool, and bar area, but lacked any staff to provide service for drinks etc .

There is also an additional charge 10 euro per day for parking, however you can park safely outside the main gates of the hotel.

“Nice pool area but weird rules about food at the room...!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 July 2010

We stayed at the Hotel Chateau De La Tour for three nights. The room we got was small but had everything you could wish for. In this hotel you should have a car. It is not centrally located but a short walk down to the water/beach. The car park outside the hotel entrance was not free, but you'll find plenty of free parking outside the hotel - which is recommended. The hotel has no Internet wireless so if you need internet you have a old computer at the lobby. The hotel offered a large pool with many sunbeds, its was realy nice. The staff was helpful and professionally.

But the most hysterical with this hotel is what you have in your hotel room. You will find a policy that says you can not eat, drink or have food at your room. You may only eat and drink from what is in the minibar or bought down at the reception...!?!? Here we're talking about very strange attitude. It is very difficult to recommend others to stay at the hotel with this rule.

“great hotel, lovely pool - awful, awful food (microwaved from frozen by reception)”

here's the letter we sent to the hotel:

Dear Sir / Madam

My husband and I stayed at your hotel during 28th May - 7th June. It was an important holiday for us as we're expecting our first child in September and we wanted plenty of rest and relaxation.

We absolutely loved the hotel surroundings, especially the swimming pool and the great reception staff. Our room was comfortable and the location ideal. However, we were very disappointed with the food. One night we were too tired to go into Cannes and asked for room service and for Euro 22 each, were served a frozen mushy dish with some pieces of microwaved chicken. We were absolutely shocked but because I am pregnant I had to force it down as there was no other option near the hotel.

On another day we wanted to have a small lunch by the pool and ordered Croque Monsieur and we were given an inedible very very moist sandwich which was dripping liquid from it. The flavours were really bad and we had to return it. This was very inconvenient for us because around the hotel there aren't many places to eat so for every lunch and dinner we had to go into Cannes, which wasn't what we were expecting from a 4 star hotel.

On our last day we raised this issue with reception and we were told that the hotel doesn't have a chef and all food is microwaved and prepared by reception staff. We felt that this was a very disappointing level of service from a 4 star hotel, especially in a country that prides itself in its cuisine.

I am sad to say that despite the lovely amenities and beautiful location, we won't be recommending this hotel to any of our friends or family as most of them will expect a proper room service or at the very least, an acceptable lunch, freshly prepared by a chef, rather than microwaved by reception staff.

I hope my email will help to change things for future customers and all the best.

“Smalls Rooms and Inattentive Staff made for a Poor Stay”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 November 2009

Arriving late on a Sunday night the outside of the hotel looked great. We took our room key and went to possibly the smallest room I have ever been given. When we brought the case in it was necessary to squeeze round it to close the door. We asked for an iron to press some shirts (something we had to do in person as the phone in the room didn't work) the iron tripped the breaker for the room plunging it into darkness. Another trip down to reception to get the only member of staff in the hotel to reset it and the heater in the bathroom comes on full blast. "no you cannot turn it off - you must wait 10 minutes and it will go off" was the response. We asked for another room, which thankfully was bigger. If only the bed was slightly softer than a cotton covered granite slab it could have been comfortable for the week. The phone in this room also didn't work, wifi was only available in the bar, so the hotel is not really appropriate for business.
Unfortunately the staff lacked some charm. My wife asked if there was something to wipe down the chairs outside, "no" was the response from reception. In the bar on the last night asking for a slice of lemon a single slice was brought to the bar by the staff member clutched between thumb and forefinger, neither appropriate nor hygienic.
Overall not a great experience and not what we had hoped for – I would not recommend the hotel.
