Nice hotel, nothing fancy.
Don't let the exterior put you off.
The rooms are big, clean and nicely decorated to make you feel at home and most importantly .... the owner was wonderful.

We stayed in the triple room with the kitchenette.
My brother had the single room.

The hostess spoke good english and was fantastic.
The first day we checked in and after we dropped off our bags,
She told us to come down the reception and gave us a brief of the whole town
- where to go, where to eat and other ins and outs.
She was ever willing to give advise on anything you wanted to know.

The hotel is near the train station so you don't have to have to catch a cab to and fro.
The hotel is located in the centre of Cannes town.
Its near the supermart, pharmacies, shopping district, eateries and the beach.
The only downside was that the lift only starts on the 2nd floor, so you have to carry your bags up a flight of stairs.

We didnt get a chance to visit many places because of the bad weather but on the whole Cannes still had a lot to offer just walking down the streets or you could also take a bus to Grasse and visit the perfume factories.

I would definitely stay here again.

Good location, stores and palais des festivals very close...just a few blocks away.
There are a few things that I have to say were not great to me: the stairs (you have to go all up 1 floor with the suitcases...elevator only on the front desk on 1st. floor -not good for old people or handicap) the other thing was that after 8:30 PM there was nobody on the front desk and you could not get phone calls later than that hour because nobody could pick up the phone.
The owners were very nice...nothing to say about them. Very clean small hotel.

We are a couple in our 20's and stayed at this hotel for 2 nights at the beginning of August. We had a very nice time, the lady who owned the hotel is quite a rare gem. The hotel is located perfectly near the train station, in walking distance to La Croisette (main attraction of Cannes). You have plenty of bars, cafes, bistro in the area. The hotel is located in an old interbelic building, the design is cozy and elegant, french style. Eventhough the rooms are not that big, this doesn't disturb yoi if you stay for a week or so. There is a "art-nouveau/good taste/retro" feeling in this hotel. The lady from the hotel gave us plenty of info (even a free parking spot tip) to enjoy our stay. She was really nice and helpfull. I would surrely stay here again.

Hotel Blue Riva was definitely the best stay we had on our recent holiday. The owner speaks very good english, is extremely friendly and helpful with recommendations on what's happening and which places to visit.
The rooms are very spacious, and the bathrooms very well equipped with lots of storage space. The aircon works like a dream.
The location of this hotel can not be beaten for the price you pay (which is very reasonable). Situated in the heart of a number of cafes and restaurants, 5 min walk from the beach and train station you don't want to be staying anywhere else.
I will definitely stay here again and again everytime I pass through Cannes! Thanks for a wonderful time!
