“Great hotel, I could not fault it.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 January 2012

My two sisters, my brother, and I travel on a "Siblings Tour" each January, it's a tradition we have kept up for years. This January we decided on a bit of luxury to escape recession/depression ridden Ireland, and spent a long weekend here last week.

We got a great deal with Hotels.com. which amounted to two double suites for 80Euro per night for each suite!! Fantastic. The suites had two double bedrooms, with a kitchen and bathroom in each room, which were interconnected, and two small terraces. Amazing space for the price! However the deal we got had a no cancellation policy, so we just HAD to get there or lose it all!

I have to say the place was spotlessly clean, I really like a place to be clean (don't we all?), but this place was immaculate. Our rooms overlooked the pool area, as the street side rooms were being refurbished. That was good, because I would say the street side rooms are a bit noisy. The beds were very comfortable and the linens were great. The kitchens are fully equipped with cutlery, plates, glasses etc. and a full sized fridge and dishwasher! The bathroom included toiletries and towels replaced every day. Free internet access is available in the rooms also. We did not need to use the AC, but did use the system for heating late at night, and it was very effective. Overall the rooms were very well equipped.

The location for us was perfect, being a few minutes walk to the sea front. However, if you are going to attend anything at the Convention end of Cannes it takes a good 15-20 minute stroll along the Croisette to get there. A lovely walk by the way, but if you are in a hurry you can hop on the no.8 bus that goes up and down the Croisette, or a taxi costs 8Euro. Just to note, we found it hard to hail a cab on the street, the taxis do not seem to cruise around much, so you may have to book one through the hotel, or go to the taxi rank. And another note, we got the express bus from Nice Airport to the Hotel de Ville in Cannes. It cost 26euro return and the journey took about 40 minutes on the tolled expressway. The bus is just outside the arrivals hall.

In the opposite direction to the sea, is Rue D'Antibes which is the major shopping area, and you can shop till you drop. Also, the train station is a ten minute walk away if you want to branch out from Cannes. Within walking distance (the Convention end of Cannes) is the Marche Forville, and if you are going to Cannes you really should visit this market. It alternates between antiques/memorabilia and food/fruit/veg. The food market is absolutely amazing. Go see it.

The front desk staff (Audrey and Vanessa, that's you!!), were very friendly and welcoming, with a great sense of humour. It is so important to have a friendly face when going to a hotel, and it is so true that first impressions are lasting!

Honestly, I could not fault anything about this hotel, and I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Cannes who likes spacious rooms, good location and cleanliness. And you can make your own breakfast/snacks with a visit to the little mini market around the corner. Perfect!

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking the pool are quieter.

“Not so close to the convention center as you might think”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 January 2012

Please do not forget your running shoes if you book his hotel because it is not that close to the convention center but on the other (positive) side you might enjoy walking the beach as a soft start to the day. I would estimate that the time it takes to walk from the hotel to the convention center is approximately 15-20 minutes. The hotel itself is situated 5 minutes (walking) from the beach. The hotel is not close to the city core so you either have to walk or take a cab to get to any restaurants and bars. The room I got was very dark and the design was plain weird, the bed was squeezed into a very narrow room and you had to enter the bed from the short end. The room had two small sofas and it was not at all cosy or nice. The worst thing with the hotel was that it was close to the street and you could easily hear the lorries and cars passing the window and it was particularly disturbing early in the morning as the convenient store got its deliveries.

“Great Location and rooms”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 October 2011

The reviews of this hotel were quite critical of the rooms opposite the railway on the front of the hotel as noisy however the air con worked very well so we did not have to open the window at night therefore no noise. The pool area and gardens were lovely and the suite arrangements in the rooms were really good, with a full sized fridge lots of kitchen equipment hob and microwave. You could have self catering there. The rooms on the pool side had a large balcony and seating area I suppose it depends if you spend a lot of time in the room.

Room Tip: Rooms by pool have large balcony obviously more expensive

“Excellent IF you get the right room.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 October 2011

Good hotel, each with a kitchen, but for me, this was locked down with no access, which was OK for a couple of nights stay. There are severe penalties if you leave the kitchen area dirty.

The first room I had over looked the street and a charming sex shop opposite. After a quiet word, we were moved to the pool side, which has a great view and balcony overlooking the pool and the outside bar area.

Breakfast was average. Internet was only really reliable in the lobby area not in the rooms.

However, it is well located, friendly staff and good atmosphere.
Just watch out of the lifts. The 2nd one was obviously installed after the first, and you have to press 2 buttons (one on each lift) to get the closest one and avoid long waiting times.

“Good hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 August 2011

This is really cute hotel, situated close to the beach and tennis club, that's what we've chosen it for. There's a parking underground, I would like to come back. The only thing- no wifi in the room
