“Excellent place to stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 January 2012

Gray d'Albion offers both hotel rooms and service apartments. I have been staying here for many years on my official trips to Cannes. Its definitely my first choice for stay in Cannes.

The hotel is just a few minutes walk to the Palais De Festival and is between la Croisette and Rue d' Antibes. Perfect location and walkable distance to every place worth going to in Cannes.

The rooms are nice and spacious and have all amenities to make your stay comfortable. The apartments are clean, well done up and well equipped with fully equipped kitchens, washing machines, microwave etc. Some (not all) apartments even have wifi. There are studio apartments as well as one bedroom, two bedroom and even three bedroom apartments. If you are a big group, this makes perfect sense. And unlike other places, each apartment has a nice balcony. I have stayed in many other places, and not all are as open and spacious with balconies like this one.

Its also cheaper than most other options available, but it gets sold out pretty fast, especially during the various festivals at Cannes. So book in advance.

“Perfect”

Spent 3 nights in Cannes. Made a good choice of choosing this hotel. As soon as we stepped in, we were greeted by a friendly concierge and were checked in by a pleasant woman who took us up to our room.
The room was big and had a big bed. The bathroom was high class with warm towel racks available. Proud to say we recycled our towels till the very last day.."and oh, the bathrobe provided were so comfy.
Hotel is central to most area...la croissette, palais des festivals, le sequet and the Gare. Just behind is the shopping strip Rue Antibes...where you can shop till you drop.
As it January, there was no atmosphere in the Jane's bar, which was a shame!

“Good location and quiet”

This hotel is located on the nice shopping avenue.
Car parking is right next to hotel. (about 27EUR/day)
Hotel lobby is decorated with Roses and fragrance of rose, but room is very calm and relaxing.
Staff are kind. When we arrived we noticed shower head is a bit broken, they called engineer to fix immidiately.

Cannes general impression was quite different than I expected.
It was very quiet and chilly in Autumn compared with Nice or Monaco.
Sundays and Mondays, many shops or restaurant are closed.
But you can find many restaurant from hotel towerd to Bus station. And also walk to the famouse beach road Croisette in 5min.

“Good location, fair price”

I was there in June 2011 for a small conference. The facilities supporting the conference were good. For a personal holiday, this hotel is perfect as a mid range pricing accomodation. The location is not on the main strip along the beach but very close enough in less than 5 mins walk. I personally prefer a little seclusion and not being in the main strip. It is also not far walk to all the shops and restaurants in the old part of Cannes.

The room I stayed in was clean and the services provided were good. The only thing I would complain about is that it doesn't have its own gym. I had to walk to its sister hotel to use its gym. As the beach was nearby with good walking paths I went running every day so it wasn't much of an issue for me.

I would definitely stay there again if I was going there again for a holiday.

“Location, location!”

Just returned from a short visit to Cannes, and have to say the Hotel Gray d'Albion was a perfect base for us. We were welcomed at Reception and a very helpful concierge recommended a restaurant for the evening and rang ahead to book us in. The room was lovely, very spacious with a super modern bathroom and huge bed; the bathrobes were a nice addition too, and must have been an upgraded room. The room was maintained to a high standard throughout and attentive staff called each evening for turn-down sevice. Parking was expensive at 26 euros per day, but we only used it once and found street parking quite easy, free after 6pm. The concierge kindly let us park in front of the hotel if there was space and we left the keys to move it if necassary - very obliging. All in all, a lovely experience in a perfectly situated hotel, highly recommended.
