“very pleasant stay”

This is our 2nd visit to this hotel. We were greeted warmly by the staff who recognised us from 2 years ago.Only 5 mins away from private beach (of which there is a concession ).Mathieu ( manager ) was very helpful and spoke very good English as did all the front desk staff. The meals at the hotel were delicious especially the set dinner.the room was cleaned everyday by a very cheerful chambermaid.A local bus takes you all along the coast to Nice for only 1€ between june & september. One draw back at the hotel is there is very limited car parking.Carole & Alf Bonner Hythe Kent

“perfect location”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 July 2010

The hotel has a perfect location, near restaurants and 5 min. walk to the boulevard the midi. The swimmingpool is nice to cool down and stay for one or two hours. The rooms are very small, but who wants to stay in his room at Cannes?? A big plus is the free internet at the hotel! We think that with al little more care and a nicer decoration(garden, breakfastarea, broken lougers at the swimmingpool) this hotel could be very good and stylish, cause it is alle there!

“Coach operators beware”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 October 2008

Despite promises from the hotel that this hotel is suitable for coach parties this is far from the truth. I have just returne from 7 night's staying at this hotel and it has been the worst hotel I think i have ever stayed at as a continental coach driver in the last 8 years of doing my job.. The only proper rop off point available is at the bottom of a steep hill on a main road and despite the hotels promise there is no parking anywhere near the site. The only parking is at the marina in the coach park charged at 50 euro's per night !!!!. on arrival the hotel were unable to check the guests in quickly. Only two passenger were happ with the room. as other reviews have said most rooms where habby and the romms are very smal. either no hanging space for luggage and no draws. breakfast was served in a back room and dinner was meant to be served at 7pm every night and every night i had to go into the kitchen to chase the food at 7,45. The hotel reception and eating areas were clen but the hotel CAT was free to roam all over the hotel as it wished walking around under the tables whilst customers where eating trying to get food. On one occasion i caught him sneeking about in the kitchen. most of the time this was the only living thing behind the reception desk looking comfy spralled out over the paperwork.. some of my passengers actually checked out of this hotel and went to one further down the road.. The hotel staff were helpfull if you could find one all but the short haired blonde woman who was very rude and had no time for anybody.. also when the food arrived after 45min of waiting it was terrible and alot of dishes were sent back to the kitchen.. 6 passengers ate in the hotel for the first night but the rest of the holiday they ate out in cannes because of the poor food

happy to be contacted by coach drivers and operators [--]

“Value for money.”

My GF and I stayed at Hotel Les Orangers for 3 nights from 24-27th Sept 2008. The hotel is on a main road 5 mins from Hyeres centre/old town. It is a small motel style hotel with rooms off of a shared walkway/terrace.The owner is very laid back and we found him to be friendly.
The gardens are quite nice with orange trees and garden furniture, you can eat breakfast there although we didn't try it.
The room was very basic as was the bathroom, very clean with fresh towels every day.
We used this as a base to explore Hyeres and Porquolles (beautiful, just go!!) and it was adequate.
We payed 55E per night for a double room which was relatively cheap for France and were satisfied with the standard.
All in all, good value for a budget hotel mainly due to location.

“disappointing”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 August 2008

With a little care and attention this could be a lovely hotel. However the lack of attention to detail is what lets it down on all fronts. The gardens and pool area need maintenance -plants were neglected and overgrown and contributed towards a general feeling of neglect. The rooms were small and could have been cleaner - and things like polystyrene squares on the ceiling, and unpainted sections around the air conditioning units again reflect an indifference to detail. First impressions of the hotel foyer and dining/sitting area are good - but breakfasts are served in a back room and were motel style in the extreme. On two occasions there was no-one at reception and we had to spend time searching the hotel for someone to deal with out queries. On departure we again had to seek out a member of staff - who at the time was more interested in standing outside talking to his friend than dealing with our check out ! To quote my friend, this hotel is 'all fur coat and no knickers' -ie appearance over quality and it is certainly NOT one I would recommend to friends or anyone as a quality place to stay.

  • Liked — convenient location to centre of cannes
  • Disliked — small rooms, poor maintenance, indifferent staff
