“The Blanchette/Mercier/Sella Family remembers”

I was just 3 years old when my parents brought me to the Hotel Du Cap 1962. Over the years that have passed the Hotel has become more beautiful then I can remember. My last visit was in 1991 when my Great Aunt Tita Sella celebrated her 100 birthday. It has been too long since my last visit there.....I hope to return some day soon to experience the beauty and charm of a Grand Hotel! Wishing The Staff at Hotel Du Cap a Happy New Year! Sincerely, Anne Blanchette USA

“In LOVE with Hotel du Cap”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 August 2011

Having stayed at the Cap D'Antibes Beach Hotel a couple of weeks earlier, we came across the Hotel du Cap for dinner one night. It was a magical moment for us - it was so beautiful and so grand and so unforgettable. We couldn't believe that we were paying very similar prices for a room at the Cap D'Antibes Beach Hotel whereas we could have stayed at Hotel du Cap instead (obviously, this is subject to getting a room in the first place. There is a 5 night minimum stay during the high season and is crazy booked up). So we searched through our diaries and finally found another weekend to return to stay at Du Cap.

It was amazing! Words don't do it justice. The view is spectacular. Completely unbeatable. The service was impeccable, everyone was very friendly and catered to our every whim. We brought two young children with us and the staff were very accommodating and very friendly. We had a wonderful time and were super sad to leave.

Disappointments to this wonderful hotel:
- the super high prices. A continental breakfast sets you back at 35 euros. You have to pay extra to use their cabanas. They charge everything at an arm and a leg and the food, although not bad, is not worth how much they charge for it.
- mosquitos around 5pm. We took the kids to the kids club and I got 8 bites within 5 minutes. I am super allergic to mozzie bites so they all turned into golf ball sized bites the next day. Not attractive. Make sure you slather yourself and your kids with mozzie cream. Be warned!
- No minibar in the room. I was a bit disappointed that they didn't have an in room mini bar. there is 24 room service, but it's not the same as being able to reach for some munchies on a whim in the middle of the night.
- Not allowed to have a kettle in the room. This was fine as they provided hot water at a moment's notice but it would have been more convenient to have a kettle since we had a baby with us.

I usually prefer more modern hotels, but I must say the rooms were very comfortable. Everything was well thought out and worked perfectly. The only drawback was that the shower didn't have a door so the floor would get wet every time someone took a shower. I wonder why they don't add a curtain or a glass door or some kind of partition.

Anyway, contrary to some earlier comments made about Hotel Du Cap, the hotel clientele were fine. I didn't find them particularly snobby at all. It was very fun to people watch and we managed to see Madonna and Kate Hudson during our stay. :)

I can't wait to return!!!!!!

“Best Resort Ever!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 August 2011

What is there not too love about this property? Everything from the facilities to the location to the service are outstanding!
Situated about 20 minutes west of the Nice airport in "Cap D'Antibes", the Hotel du Cap Eden Roc is paradise.
This season was the first year since the hotel had rennovated it's rooms and they are breathtaking. We stayed in a Junior Suite in the Hotel du Cap (Eden-Roc is a separate building by the ocean) and thought it was stunning. From sunset or late night drinks on the terrace to being at the Bellini Bar for a nightcap it was magnificance in an opulent surrounding.
The Concierge at this property were absolutely amazing. Gilles (head concierge), and Fred were the best looking after our every request from dinner reservations to airport transportation.
The Spa features La Prairie products and treatments and is expensive (200 Euros for the average 60 minute massage) but totally worth it!
The Tennis Courts are a marvelous facility. Clay courts and the instruction (if requested) is exceptional. Make sure you bring flat soled shoes though!!
The Swimming Pool is the best part of the hotel, in my opinion. An infinity pool situated on a cliff overlooking the Mediterranean ports of Saint Tropez and Cannes is unbelieveable.
Both restaurants are the only thing that slightly took away from the overall enjoyment of our stay and I would not go back to either for dinner. "Le Grill" is the open-air, largely outside casual dining option and is fantastic for lunch but the dinner menu falls short. "Eden-Roc Restaurant" is billed as a "gastronomic" dining experience, however we had a disasterous (and way overpriced) dinner there. The service and food were off but the setting again is stunning.
Cannes is just a short trip away (20 mins by taxi) and we went there for a couple hours one afternoon to shop along Rue de la Croisette (the main street), gamble in the casino and have dinner at La Petite Maison de Nicole at the Majestic Barriere (highly recommended).
Other dining options we favour are Le Cesar (in Antibes - 5 minutes away by taxi). On Keller Beach it provides a stunning view of Nice, Villefranche and Monaco in the distance. The food is exceptional and as I said before the setting is spectacular however the service can be extremely stuck-up.
Michael Angelo's was the best meal we had there, in Juan les Pins (5 mins away by taxi). Nice and casual Italian "trattoira" where many movie stars are known to frequent, particularly during film festival season.
The only other thing I can think of that I have not wrtitten about are the Seaside Cabanas availible for rent at the hotel. I don't get it, 500 euros per day for a tiny private space perched throughout the forest/gardens. Maybe some peoples cup of tea, but I would much rather be by the pool.
I will close by saying, this place is without doubt the best resort I have ever stayed in (with exception of the food).
However, it is VERY expensive. Rooms in high season (July and August) start at around 1000 euros per night plus the astronomical price of food (breakfast - 40 euros per person), (lunch and dinner entrees ranging from 40 - 70 euros per plate). Combined with the cost of beverages (bottles of wine at dinner: 100 euros +), glasses of champange (35 euros +).
That said, I cannot wait to return because the Hotel du Cap Eden-Roc is certainly worth it's while.

Room Tip: Traditional Room = too small. Superior Room = lovely, Deluxe Room = even more spacious. Junior Suite...

a hotel that breaths the era of old aristrocacy very rare this days even for old Europe.
Amazing landscape with unique plantation. Hotel Du Cap is very impressive and kept in an outstanding standard after the renovation. Annexe building Two fountains not worth it as much. Staff very friendly and helpfull especially if you respect the tipping rules. They recognize guests by their names and know their habits.Quality of food in grill room rest needs attention, Eden Roc restaurant exceptional food and service. Cabana service is suitable only for old people who enjoy peace and isolation, Pool area more vivid and live.
