When we saw the website of the Don Cesar with direct access to the beach (the website has now been changed) the hotel looked pricey but very nice. How wrong we were to be.

The Hotel is situated a mile away from the beach and the access to the sea they sternly advised was very scary indeed.

The rooms of the hotel were somewhat dated and also unclean. After the second night we asked for our money back as we wanted to move hotels and Sandrine (the rude and stern receptionist) said there was a 3 day cancellation policy so we could not. Needless to say we checked out anyway.

This hotel is terrible and I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy.

This hotel - the equivalent of a Holiday Inn Express in the United States - was by the greatest rip-off of our trip. 300 Euros for a tiny motel room. We stayed at some gems that were half the amount. Who gave this tavern four stars, and how much were they paid off? Run as fast as you can from "Hotel Don Cesar," the worst hotel value in the cote d'azur.

Very friendly staff. But small pool backs onto main road. "Private Beach" is lump of concrete with plastic chairs. Room very small - smelled of damp, hairs on tiles and mould in grouting. Very claustrophobic atmosphere as hotel is small and is hemmed in by the main road. Cannot believe this place has got 4 stars. No village to speak of. You need a car to escape for the day.

Stuff is very nice, pool is nice, public area is nice but rooms...need major update. Has cracks in the walls, tiles, shower has no water preasure.
I had sea view room. Yes it has sea view but the way the hotel is designed you have some sea and some building next door view and no privacy as there are not sheers -only black out drapes. Room is very small, no place for 2 people wardorbe, no place to store suitcases. There is a road in front of the hotel, so you get trafic noise as well.
Stuff was very nice and helpful. Restaurant Ceasar down the street on the beach is exellent.

Paid $300 a night.
