I was surprised at the price of our room, given the location, - just 99 euros. We booked for the Friday evening after dining in the restaurant on Thursday and were surprised also that there were rooms available.

The room, as with the hotel, appeared quite medieval (as others have said) and had a very warm feel to it. The only small issues I would have are 1) that the toilet cubicle was not big enough - sit down and your knees were pushed hard up against the door and 2) whilst giving the appearance of a solid, stone structure, in fact many of the walls were partitions only - for example, the walls in the bathroom were tiled partitions. There was some noise from another room.

The hotel itself, the reception area, the corridors, the dining areas etc were delightful. We had two lunches and two dinners (including one chateaubriand!) in the restaurant and we couldn't be tempted to eat anywhere else. Marvellous.

We stayed at this hotel in October 2011 and had a room for the hole family - 2 adults, 2 children. The room (€ 123) had been recently remade, and was nice, clean and functional. There is even a TV in the separate room of the kids ;-). Service was of high quality. What we liked is that the "castle" aspect of the hotel and its great location (between place de l'horloge and Palais des Papes). I would definitly recommend it (and go back there). Also very close to parking of Palais de Papes (unlike many other hotels)

The Hotel du Palais des Papes has a nice, medieval character with stone walls and narrow staircases as well as a cosy breakfast restaurant with a fireplace. The staff is kind and professional, and the location could not be better.

We loved every minute. The women at the reception were nice helpful and informal, the room was spotlessly clean and decorated in good taste, the location couldn't be better, the price is so reasonable considering the location and the quality of the hotel. The car parked reasonably near.The only problem - the street is a bit bussy at night. We will definitely come again!
