I have recently visited Avignon (during the July Avignon festivals) and stayed at this hotel for two nights. It was great to be away from the hustle and bustle of the inner city ('intra muros') as there were thousands of people in this old part of the city attending the different shows. The Kyriad Avignon Courtine is situated in the 'extra muros' part of the city, very close to the Gare TGV. Transport from the hotel to the inner city is very easy. The bus stop is situated about 150 metres from the hotel. There is a bus every 20 minutes from this bus stop to town.
The staff at the hotel speaks English quite well and were very helpful and friendly. My room was comfortable, very clean ... and it was very peaceful during the night as there are no busy roads or noisy night spots close to the hotel. The bed was very comfortable for a tall person; the shower was big and the rest of the bathroom was very comfortable too. Breakfast comprised of yoghurt, cereals, different types of breads, cold meats, cheeses, coffee/tea, fruit. The hot breakfast comprised of sausages and scrambled eggs but this hot breakfast is really not recommended!
The hotel meets all the criteria of a good budget hotel. It will not meet the expectations of travellers who are used to luxury hotels as it is not supposed to be luxurious. The open cupboards (cupboards with no doors) are fine and so are the other furnishings. The hotel is furnished in a minimalistic way which some people may consider cold and even without personality. I enjoyed the absence of clutter and the functionality of the furniture and other furnishings.
