We stayed here for two nights; we requested a room away from the street-good advice, the main street is busy and therefore quite loud all night long! We found it too loud to sleep with the window open, even though we weren't directly facing the street; in winter this isn't a problem but I'm not sure how it would be in summer.
The hotel is centrally located, so much so that we found it quicker to come back to drop our shopping off/have a toilet break than to look for somewhere to stop and rest!
The staff were friendly and spoke good English. The bed was comfortable and the room was adequately furnished.
If we were travelling to Avignon again we would stay at Regina once more.

If you book the Regina, you aren't looking for luxury but you also do not want to stay somewhere sketchy and uncomfortable. The staff are friendly and the rooms are fit with what you need. No extra pillows (some of us just love when they do that).

Make sure to ask for a balcony room and book through an online system in order to get a better price. I paid 55euros for a double bed room for a single person per night. I believe it was 65euros from the desk. I booked through hostelworld.com but I am sure others do similar pricing.

This simple hotel in Avignon offers basic breakfast (Coffee, juice and bread) for 4 euro. They speak good English to offer advice where to go, to eat. It is a plus in southern France.
No elevator, narrow pathway. Keep your luggage small.

Regina Avignon Hotel is located on the main street in old Avignon. Very strategic and within easy walking to the Papal Palace and to eateries. The hotel is small and the room is bare to the minimum. The room is furnished with 1 standing fan, beds, table, chair, and that was it. The bathroom was a bit small and rather slippery. The room was warm and not well ventilated, and opening a window was the only choice although it disturbed our sleep from the traffic noises and people screaming in the middle of the night.
