Spend 5 nights in November at the Hotel Mignon. This hotel is what they advertise. No elevator so prepare for steps; very clean; affordable prices and central. You can walk everywhere including the central train station and the bus from from the TGV.

The hotel owner could not be more helpful and is eager to help. There is a great restaurant nearby L' Essential. Her food is excellent and the serve is first class.

If you want the Ritz, go elsewhere. If you want a clean, central hotel at a good price, stay here.

The hotel is in a great location for seeing the sights of Avignon. We parked the car in the underground lot at the Palace of the Popes. It is an easy walk even with luggage to the hotel and a discount is available through the hotel for the parking fee. The hotel itself is a little dated even by European standards but very clean. The staff was VERY friendly and helpful. The value for the price paid was outstanding and we will definitely stay there again.

We stayed one night here and found it to be a charming hotel with character and an ideal location for Avignon. It is very central, on a pretty street (above the expensive shops) with only a 2-3 min walk to the Place de l’Horloge and just inside the city walls, so that free parking is also within easy reach. The building is old and attractive and our room on the second floor facing the street had exposed original stone work, pillar and wooden beams with a plaque on the building’s history. The room furnishings were of an antique style but full of charm and in keeping with the hotel’s character. The double bed was large and there was enough room around it for our bags and a case and allowing for a bit of spreading out. The pillow was a French-style roll rather than the more usual individual square but very comfortable all the same. The bathroom was very compact, akin to a fitted wardrobe both in size and proximity to the bed, and there was only a sliding wooden (and fairly loose) door between it and the bedroom but it was decently fitted out and certainly suited our needs. The owner, who we met on reception for checking in and out, was very welcoming and helpful. The hotel also offered free wifi and with its good value room rate, it’s somewhere that I would be happy to re-visit.

This small hotel in Avignon is superbly located to see the major sites. The rooms -- especially the bathrooms -- are a tight squeeze but are clean and well-maintained. Service and hospitality are outstanding. Breakfast was good and included in our rate. We'd definitely stay here again.
