Just outside the city wall and only a 100 metres from the shuttle bus to the TGV station, the Ibis is a good location for exploring the town.

It's an Ibis, and it looks like an Ibis, it does everything an Ibis does. If you want a hotel that feels French this isn't it, it you want a guaranteed traditional chain hotel room that you book in the knowledge that everything will work and everyone speaks great english - this is it.

Beds were good, room was quiet, breakfasts were fine - overall a good base.

Fantastic view over the walled city - and the Palace at night is quite stunning.

If you want to visit Avignon, this hotel will provide a good value, and with the parking lot, it´s very practical. It´s just outside the walled city. So if you want to stay in the middle of the "action", it´s not the place. But, as I said, perhaps you´re going to spend 50% just because of a 10 minutes walk. In my case, it didn´t make a difference, so we enjoyed the city and the hotel quite well.

Right next to the old train station. You are steps away from the city walls into Avignon. Clean and modern hotel. Amazing view of the old city from your room.

As this was our first visit to the area we opted for the Ibis based on its location and price - neither was a disappointment. Our room didn't have a lot of floor space but we had everything we needed - plus a great view over to the Palace and no noise from either trains or traffic! As other reviewers have said, its great for the SCNF station and the bus to and from the TGV is also very close.
Breakfast was worth the money because it tasted fine and there was a lot of choice ( much more than Montpellier IBIS), and staff were always pleasant. We didn't use their restaurant because there is lots of choice in town, within very easy walking distance.
