Fountains, stone paths, animals, gardens, a pool... there were so many fun little corners on this property we were happy we chose it. When we stayed in Arles, we planned to tour some of the surronding areas (you MUST go to Pond du Guard). With that in mind, we had a car. As some have already said, this hotel is not close to the city so having a car makes the stay here very easy (although there are bikes available). Our stay at this hotel was very enjoyable. The staff were so happy and friendly and that's the feel of the hotel as well. We stayed in the Chambre Vert. All I could think was "very Provenceal". The decore was quaint and cozy and had a country feel. The rooms all feel like small cottages spearated by stone paths. If you can't tell from this review so far, there are lots of gardens and grounds here so be prepared for a few spiders, insects and lizards. Not at all a bad thing - just part of the experience. There was a train or airport or something close by (we honestly didnt know what it was) but we only heard the noise occasionally since we weren't in the room other than to sleep. We didnt hear the train/plane after 11pm. We were adamant that we were not going to eat in any hotels while we were in France, but once we experienced this place, we had to make an exception. The breakfast is a lot of fun - at least once. There was a lot of food and the small dining room just felt wonderful when it was full of eager tourists and the smell of fresh coffee and croissants. If you're lucky, you will get to eat out in the yard on the rustic tables or even eat near the lovely pool. If you want a country cottage experience, you will enjoy the relaxed and welcoming atmosphere that embraces Mas de la Chapelle.
