Escale Oceania was one of the few hotels showing vacancies for a visit to Aix during festival time. It was over-priced,bland, and the "chambre confort " cramped. Any suggestion that it is centrally located is inaccurate. Bus travel was quite efficient by day, but non existent after dark, with few taxis available to service a large festival population, so making the location even less desirable. It was clean but forgettable, and right by the main highway so opening a window was not advisable, nor swimming, as the noise level was unsettling. This hotel may work for people with cars who just want a bed, a free park and tours into the countryside, or as overnight 'business' guests, but it is not a good choice for the car-free visitor to the absolutely gorgeous and cultured city of Aix. Stay central if you are in the latter category, find a charming hotel, and give this one a miss.
Room Tip: Ask for a room that does not face the highway
