We rented La Maison de Carlotta for a week in November, and were completely delighted
with every aspect of it. Each room is beautiful and decorated with soft colors in a warm Provençal style. The beds are comfortable, the bathrooms ample, the kitchen is cozy, and feels very French, and the living room and dining room are lovely. It was perfect.
Aline, who speaks excellent English, is the warmest and kindest of hosts and made sure our needs were met, and helped us reserve a taxi for our early morning departure.
La Maison de Carlotta is on a small street, right off the main street of the old section, the Cours Mirabeau. It is an easy walk to anywhere in the old city.

Despite the rainy weekend, we had a lovely warm stay at Aline's.
"La Maison de Carlotta" is a charming, cozy place located at the central part of the town,
in the heart of the Mazarin district, neighboring an even older historic district up-north.
Aline gave us an insightful and an interesting history of the place, including the relationship between her house and the Cezanne family. She also knows the region, its products and the spots in the neighborhood, not to be missed!
The local aperitif, accompanied with "tapenade" (mashed olives, plus Aline's secret) was an excellent ice-breaker with other guests. She has talent to make people feel at ease.
The rooms are decorated with ancient furniture, with taste.
At breakfast, the large round table could hardly contain all the home-made products, and the conversation with Aline resumes (her command of English is quite good!).
Yes, due to both Aline's generosity, and the richness of the place, we spent an unforgettable week-end, and we are eager to stay there again. Edith and Philippe

This was the SECOND time we stayed at Aline's place. We loved it so much the first time around that we came back. And again we found a host who cares. The B&B is super clean, very charming and warm and Aline will always help you with anything. This place is for mature travellers who are not afraid to have a chat with the home owner. She is so refreshing! The location is perfect, it's only a few steps to Cours Mirabeau! Breakfast is a treat, we've never had such a generous breakfast in any other B&B. Everything is fresh, homemade jams, cheese, fruits, juice, fresh breads - you really can't ask for more. You'll share a breakfast table with the co-travellers on the pretty terrasse, which is enriching. If you can walk high stairs you should book this place, you'll love everything about it.
And as for us - we will go back to stay at La Maison de Carlotta again. It's truly like a home.

We stayed five days with Aline at Maison Carlotta and it was one of the best B&B's we've ever been! Don't expect an American Style 5 star place with elevator and mini bar... but a comfortable, truly French apparment, beautifully with much love and taste decorated, a very charming, sincere and capable hostess that makes you feel at home right away and wonderful breakfasts on the terrace and all this right in the heart of Aix-en-Provence!
We were very sad to leave and will definitly come back every year!
