“we love this hotel!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 September 2011

What a great hotel and terrific people!

We recent stayed at XXX in La where we had a terrific time!
Sylvette Lebeau (owner) and her team were so all very helpful and gave a level of service far higher than all of the hotels ( higher *) that we stayed in on this trip to France. Their knowledge of the local area from great places to eat to places to see was outstanding.
When my car broke down (a very stressful experience), Syvette personally handled the whole process communicating with the engineer that came to fixed the car. I don’t know what we would have done without her help.
The bedrooms, showers and facilities where great and the continental breakfast was a very high standard with excellent coffee.
I would highly recommend the spa room in the basement where you can book the whole space for yourself for 2 hours to really relax.
I cannot understand the negative comments as this is a terrific, young hotel run by a lady that really cares about her customer’s experience.
For sure we will return to this fresh, modern hotel which is in a fantastic’s location 5 mins from the port with parking.

“Not as good as it used to be”

We loved this hotel when we stayed there two years ago: a fine old building tastefully renovated. Since then it has had a complete make-over, but not for the better. Hard plastic chairs, sheet metal furniture, and dark wallcoverings - including faux (presumably!) fur on the walls of the lift - which make it seem more like a nightclub than a hotel. It has also become more expensive, and at 15 euros the good but not first rate breakfast is just too dear. It retains the old stone walls, staf fare still friendly, and still has its excellent location, but I am afraid we will not be likely to return.

“GREAT HOTEL – PERFECT LOCATION – EXCELLENT SERVICE !”

We very recently stayed 7 nights in this superbly renovated hotel and we have no hesitation in recommending it. I was extremely surprised to read the previous negative comments as I have high standards, and can be hard to please, but I was really thrilled with this place. Location was very important for us for we had no car, and I needed everything to be within walking distance given my husband is partially disabled & walks slowly with a cane. This hotel is wheelchair friendly by the way. We stayed in an Executive suite room, with 2 spacious bedrooms, excellent sonorisation between, large bathroom and a salon area complete with safe for valuables. Bedrooms & salon contained tv plasmas. Very design in look, simplistic, minimalist, nothing dowdy about this place. Beds of exceptional high quality, so a great night’s sleep. The spa is very well done, offering a total experience of relaxation with calming music, vibrating massage bed, sauna, a 2-bed Jacuzzi with all kinds of settings and “light show” within the Jacuzzi provoking a very dream-like ambiance after awhile. You have it all to yourselves too. Fitness room just next door with brand-new machines. In the reception area you have access to the Apple computer to surf on. Breakfast is great value for money as its buffet-style with plenty of choice. The staff were very professional, polite and most welcoming. My children aged 12 and 7 years loved it. Great sandy beach to the left of this hotel, restaurants galore to the right, night market with all kinds of music and activities around the harbor itself. We will return.

“Just don't come to this hotel.”

Pros: Great design, great location.

Cons: Very bad service. You don't get smile from anyone. They just can not do anything you can ask.
We took a large room, there was an extra single bed inside. We asked to remove it. The concierge said to us no can do, because it's just suppose to be so. the next day, I asked to change a lighter quilt, because it's just too hot to sleep with a winter one even with the air-con on. Still no can do.
One evening, we came back with our car, there were simply no parkings left, while we paid 20 euros a day to reserve a parking space.
The night on arrival, I asked for wifi code, And, the old concierge guy just insisted that I need to plug the LAN cable into my computer which was an iPad...
Breakfast for 15 euro, you need to get your own coffee from the machine, and cook your own whole eggs with hot water!

They call themselves a "spa" hotel, what all they got is just an automatic massaging bed which will charge you 35 euros for 30 mins.

One more thing, in their super designed bathrooms, when you take a shower, the super designed shower room floor gives weird painful feeling, making you just want to finish shower as fast as possible!

Dear Sir,

We are absolutely amazed to read this comment and sorry to hear that you did not enjoy your stay with us.
After some verifications with our employees, I would like to give you the following details :
It appears that you arrived at the hotel at around 2.00 am. You had a reserved parking place, but you refused to take it, so, effectively, you parked your car in an inappropriate place.
We are not used to be rude and to refuse a guest request, we always try to do our best for our guests. That is why, again, we are very surprised.
The whole reception team was at your entire disposal during your stay, day and night, and they were also very sorry to read this.
Concerning the Internet access, please note that it is an healthy bias to avoid waves in the room. That is why the wireless is available in the lobby, and the cable connection in the rooms.
We do apologize for the matter with the extra bed, this was a triple room, the last one available when you made your reservation, the same day. We should have, effectively, removed it.
We are pleased to inform you that after reading your usefull comment, we will shortly find a lighter solution for the quilts.
The concept of our Spa is to be private and intimate. The massage table is used in many thalassotherapies for its therapeutic qualities. You are also free to choose safely the power of the massage. This machine is much more reliable than a person who might hurt you for, at least, 45 euros for 30 minutes. Obviously, you did not use the whole space with the jacuzzi, and the sauna....
Finally, concerning your comment about the shower, we understand your position and will shortly find a solution to resolve this issue.
We would have preferred to meet you at your check-out (when you told us that you enjoyed your stay), instead of reading this comment on a website that is consulted by many travelers, who will be wrongly influenced.

With our best regards,

Lore Boccanfuso

“Pefect location but expensive nd basic”

Have just staye 3 night at this hotel, the location for the harbour marina and town center is perfect and there are a large number of bars and resteraunts close by.
The building is old and delightfull with central courtyard. I think it habeen recently renovated and is very boutique like now.

The rooms are basic with no mini bar or fridge no tea/coffee facilities and no safe. my double room had one plastic chair and a plastic stool - no comfortable chair. I got only one small complimentry bottle of water during my stay. The room cost 168 Euros a night!!

Breakfast cost 15 Euros and was continental with nothing else on offer.

For the cost i would expect more I am afraid.
