The hotel has two parts - one 4 star hotel, and the other, apartments. We stayed in the apartment. It was totally adequate - easy parking, kitchenettes, clean sheets and towels. The room itself is completely void of personality and character. It was a great place to crash for one night on our way through. The walk to the waterfront is a pleasant 10 minutes. La Rochelle is yet another charming, upscale small town in France.

We chose this hotel primarily because it has its own off street parking which in La Rochelle is well worth the 9 Euros per night given the very narrow roads in this beautiful city. The hotel is well positioned for the fantastic seafood restaurants on the sea front. The room was well proportioned and had the benefit of the mini kitchen which we did use for making a simple breakfast.

The reception staff were thoughtful and helpful and very friendly; we received a friendly welcome with lots of hints and tips about the city. Despite its central position, the hotel was very quiet and relaxing.

It was a good stay and thoroughly enjoyable at the hotel.

We have no complaints with this hotel and we would happliy go back. I would thoroughly recommend it.

staff friendly and helpful. clean and beautiful place, with an open fire and piano in the lovely bar. our family room was more than adequate and it was nice to have 2 seperate single beds for the children, not a shared sofa bed. Location was perfect, close to all restaurants, harbour etc but not noisy. free secure parking. would definately stay here again.

negatives - large bathroom but not a seperate toilet which in a family room would be really helpful. kitchenette = basic. Decor in rooms = tired. Very small lift

We booked this hotel for a 2 night stay for my wife's birthday. The hotels position and entrance was great and the staff were exeptionally helpful. The only one negative is that once you are away from the ground floor it all looks a bit tired and in need of a lick of paint and didn't have the feel of other 4* hotels we have been to.
