This hotel is of a pretty high standard. Good bathroom (excellent shower), comfy beds and clean. Lovely views of the river and chateau opposite (if you ask for a riverside room). Easy to park outside on the street (free), and a short 10minute walk across the bridge to central Saumur. It doesn't have a restaurant and the bar is v v quiet; so you need to head out for the evening. But its location means that's easy.

We stayed here for four nights. The room was quiet, small but very clean, with tea and coffee making facilities. The bar area overlooked the river Loire directly opposite the chateau and was a lovely place to sit and enjoy the view. The breakfast was excellent, very wide choice and everything you could want. The staff were very friendly. There was no restaurant for an evening meal but the short scenic walk into Saumur town centre was no trouble and we found nice restaurants in the town.

We arrived on the motorbike after a long day and were made very welcome in this modern hotel located right on the banks of the Loire. We tried out our French, as always, but had a 'back-up' in that most of the staff spoke excellent English.
The room was a good size and the air conditioning was not obtrusive but necessary during our stay!
We had booked a room with a view of the river and the Chateau on the opposite bank and were not dissappointed. The hotel's location on the opposite bank to the town means it is about a 10 - 15 minute walk to most of the restaurants, but it is a very pleasant walk across the bridge.
Breakast was very good but you need to be aware that the restaurant serves breakfast only, not evening meals.
