Imaginatively restored farm buildings set amidst vineyards; original cellars carved from the underlying limestone; excellent cuisine and very friendly hostesses with a passion for the local wines - This is a great location in its own right but then add all there is to see in this part of the Loire Valley and it becomes a 'must' for anyone wanting accommodation in the vicinity.

Our 3 day stay was not long enough! The accomodations, the gardens, the entire experience was far superior to our expectations. And, the hosts, Sue and Micaela, were very sociable, knowledgable, and made us feel right at home. They were more than happy to help us with questions of what to see and do in the area, including making dinner reservations for us and even driving us to dinner and picking us up. The breakfasts and wine tasting dinner were, again, beyond our expectations. Their wine tour package is an absolute must! They KNOW wines and the vineyard owners - so it becomes a very personal experience, not just a tour.We cannot recommend staying there highly enough!

La Grande Maison was a dream come true in terms of beauty, ambiance and enjoyability. Sue and Micaela are very welcoming, knowledgable and fun to be with - both go out of their way to ensure guests' every desires are met. We took the 4 night, 3 day wine tour, and thought perhaps it would be become repetitive, but no - it got better and better, and we learned so much! Sue and Micaela's first hand understanding of wine and the wine industry, as well as their friendships with the local vintners allowed us to be welcomed into the wine-making families and to experience first hand how proud and passionate they are about this noble profession which in many cases has been their lives and livelihoods for centuries. We'll be back!

Spent couple of nights here on our honeymoon. We would agree with the positive reviews on Tripadvisor, so won’t repeat them here in detail. Suffice to say it is a beautiful building and location, and has tons of unique character. Sue and Micaela were wonderful hosts, and really add to the positive atmosphere.

We were on one of their Wine Tour packages. Sue took us and 2 other guests round a good selection of vineyards, and we found her to be very knowledgeable and an excellent guide – really fun trip, would do it again. The evening meal at the Maison was very tasty, and our trip out to local troglodyte village restaurant second night was a good experience.

Oh, quick tip on finding the Maison, if your satnav is struggling – we input the coordinates from their website, which took us right to the front door.

Overall a lovely stay, and would definitely return – thanks Sue and Micaela!!
