“Classic style, warm welcome, very comfortable room, quiet, good location”

This inn is just up the hill from Honfleur - a 10 minute walk from the main square and great restaurants. The walk back up the hill after dinner helps to reduce the guilt surrounding eating great quantities of good food. The 1800s era building is classic - it was the home of the chief chandler. The Diet family have decorated with beautiful antiques. M. Diet and his son Jean-Christophe were very welcoming and very helpful with tips on dining and touring. Our room on the top floor was spacious and comfortable - the windows looked out across the road to a field with cows and beyond that the town. It was very quiet at night and the breakfast in the classic dining room was superb.

“Beautiful house, wonderful welcome!”

We stayed at La Liniere on the basis of the reviews on Trip Advisor - and it was even better than we had hoped! We were two couples, and stayed in Bergamote and Capucine bedrooms. Bergamot is the largest, with a four poster, an extra single bed / settee and a table and chairs. It was a charming room. Capucine was a bit smaller but still big enough, and so very pretty. Both had lovely bathrooms and everything was immaculately clean. Breakfast was good - bread, croissants, jam, cheeses - served in an elegant dining room. There's also a lovely lounge and a nice garden. The owner and his father could not have been more kind or helpful. We absolutely loved it, and would recommend it to anyone ( as long as there is room for us next time!!). Oh yes - and Honfleur is great for shopping and sight-seeing although the restaurants are a little pricey. The market on Saturday is excellent, too.

“elegant, great location, affordable”

La Liniere is a 19th century chateau nestled against a hillsid, about a five-minute walk from the village centre, with views toward Normandy's cable bridge. Inside, each room is decorated with family antiques that add an air of elegance and exoticism.
Our room, Jonquille, faced away from the views, but the sunflower yellow walls, high ceilings, lovely furnishings and tall windows that opened out to the garden made it a beautiful sanctuary after a day's exploring.
Every morning our friendly host invited us to our very own corner breakfast room overlooking the treetops, where we enjoyed breads, jams, juice and coffee. The table was set with the finest silverware in surroundings complemented by sculptures, paintings and other treasures. We felt like honoured guests, even while dressed in zip-off pants and T-shirts.
Parking is free, and there's no need for a car when exploring the town. Also, a walk to a viewpoint begins just a short distance away down the hill.
This is a wonderful place to stay at a very reasonable price.

“Fabulous”

La Liniere is a fantastic place to stay. The house itself is beautiful. It's set just at the top of the old town and has lovely views of the town and Pont Normandie bridge. Only a 5-10 minute walk to the centre of Honfleur - worth checking out for a couple of days. The owner also spoke good English and was most helpful. Highly recommended (included breakfast and parking) If you are travelling from UK by ferry this place is pretty close to Le Harvre.

“Fabulous value for money”

We found this little treasure on [--] and rang direct to book. The host speaks fairly good English. Staying here set the standard for the rest of our stay in France. It is a beautifully restored mansion set just a very short walk out of the harbour town of Honfleur. There is secure parking to enable you to enjoy the delights of the towns excellent restaurants and wine bars. There are lots of original features retained along side all the modern comforts. The breakfast was superb, an exquisitly set table in a dining room from a by gone age of elegance. The rates were extremely good value for money and certainly cheaper than staying at a hotel.
