My first stop on the way to the Normandy beaches. What a pleasant stay! My first floor room had a walk-in shower large enought for 4 people! The bed was very comfortable. And perhaps the best part is the restaurant right across from the hotel (same name). The food was superb!

We had a great stay at l'Absinthe. Service was good, room quite nice. Location is outstanding - virtually on the water, right in the heart of the old town. The restaurant was top notch. And, don't miss the almond croissants at the boulangerie a few steps from the hotel.

We were catching a cruise ship from the port of Honfleur and booked a room that overlooked the harbor. Cost was higher than other rooms in hotel but was definitely worth the extra dollars. Room was in newer building and was very spacious.
The next day I asked the lady at front desk if we could leave bags in room till 12 noon and than if she could have a taxi take us to ship. She said that she would take us and luggage to ship.at noontime. This was very gracious on her part and she even had two helpers bring luggage down and load into her car. Great hotel and really nice people.

We found L'Absinthe when walking around Honfleur after precipitously checking out of our previous hotel. We walked in off the street and the very friendly waitress/receptionist raced from her breakfast service to assist us. Although she spoke no English, we managed to muddle through with my rusty high school French, with which she was very patient. When we returned later in the day to check-in, the reception we received was again quite friendly and the instructions to the parking garage had been perfect. Our room was good value for the money, particularly after our previous night's experience at La Ferme Saint-Simeon, and we had an excellent night's sleep. Although we did not dine in their restaurant, the restaurant staff was extremely helpful in getting us a bucket of ice as they were closing up. Breakfast in the morning was plentiful and very good, and the price extremely reasonable. And the location is unbeatable - an easy walk to anywhere in the town. If I were to visit Honfleur again, I would definitely stay in L'Absinthe.
